Yes you did . Your line set is another plus for the Pro Dancer . Probably crash less than a 4d. I already got 6 nice kites that all got good reviews and are all different . Okay 5 nice kites. Microns a wicked little beast. Haven't flown the Jewel yet but it is a 6 footer and should have notable differences. Really people you should warn us newbies about the need another one kite syndrome. Oh wait that's the 1st thing we hear and learn LOL. I don't need another nice kite. Need a great kite. Can you get the Pro Dancer with polka dorts ?

Thanks guys. Been trying to not buy the SF ul for a month now.Was in and out all day waiting in 0 to 3. Had my Addiction set to low wind w/o upper spreader waiting for a puff or 2. Won't take out upper spreader again. On 50" lines could really see the flex on landing as the wind quit. Prices for Acrobatix, Palidin and SF are below 100.00 now. After another frustrating low wind day kinda freaking out. For now I can't move fast enough for most light wind flying unless it's something like the Pro Dancer. The Soul ul is in the cart. 2 mph low wind flying for me with any of these kites is probably unrealistic right now. Sigh sanity is returning. Let me know when Khsidekick. Got a pretty open schedule.

Northcoastwp just dropped prices a bunch . Need a ul . Please share knowledge of Fying wings Silver Fox 2.3,soul ul, (have widow ng),New tech Paladin ul , Acrobatix ul. Ahh the age old ? what would the pros do ? Probably save for a Pro Dancer.

The art seems abstract, random and senseless at first. First impression huh? As I stare at the different paintings and contemplate how they're done the flow and motion start to appear. You can began to feel the wind in the mind and then actually see it appear on the canvass. Awesome !!! If you can't may I suggest you may be third eye blind. I thought that they were re branded Prism for a promotion or something due to color. The 1.2 snapshot had spectre and they were selling in the day at same price I think. Now the 140 synapse comes with polyester. 170 and up spectre. Happy with my snapshot. To bad it does't have the old glory though. Put a bar on it yesterday and went out with 4 and 6 year old grand daughters for 1st flights in 15 to 20,gusts a little higher. From 10:30 to 2:30 much whooping and hollering.A few face plants and it didn't take them long to learn to butt slide . Zonked out by 8 pm 630 am wanting to fly.

Don't know squat about quads or these situations that you and others have dealt with Polo.People here love your work and so cool to see a person staying in the fight. Can't fly a quad but I can color one . Your kites are stunning.

Was looking at those too. Thought I'd seen some deterioration in some photos so I got a snapshot. Colors are cool and I still want 1. For that price ya got a set of spectra lines and a free kite .

Been trying that channeling thing too. Guy named Crash McDoogle keeps showing up!! Flew my foil in 20 plus yesterday. Used the wrist wrap with heavy gloves, Switched back to finger hold real quick to keep from kissing the earth. Winds calmed down a bit and flew the Nighthawk still using the 4 finger hold.Kite would shutter pretty hard coming thru the window so I was right on edge. Iv'e always tried to keep my hands vertical. When doing lighter inputs is it best vertical or horizontal ? Horizontal in the power zone seems less control so Iv'e never tried unless with a bar and foil.

Spit worked well for the others but that was tight . Spit probably aided the slip and nick. Was thinking some heat till it finally s started.

Yesterday I started out the day reading kite builders post. Got engrossed for a bit In 1 of sail maker Krijins projects. Like Michio Kaku he can explain the complex very well. Thinking along those lines called Kites and Fun Things for mods on my Nighthawk. Much to my chagrin there are none. Didn't even have enough knowledge to ask a proper question nor enough sense to get help in putting a repair kit together. Who better to ask I say then the designer himself. As conversation turned to the addiction it took all of 2 seconds to know it would be added to my quiver. Telling me the difference between the Addiction and the Addiction Pro was worth the call. I realized later those post were not mods so much as helping someone solve a problem and get back to flying. At times we all see what we want to see I suppose. Our short conversation turned to the light/zero wind flyers. With profound sadness for all stunt flyers the future of the Aura is in flux. As with most passing's the ripple affect starts with family. Those folks are family!! I went out yesterday right after my last post to maiden fly my new Addiction. The left lower spreader connection took close to 5 minutes of gently rotating and coaxing to finally seat. Thanks for the tutorial. My left thumb with a little neosporin and a band aid is healing nicely thanks for asking.No damage done. I've been advised by the best J.B, Jim P.,Jon T and many others to be patient go slow and get the basics down. 5 minutes into my 1st flight ever that all went out the window. The Widow was just begging to do things I had no idea how to do. So I just went for it and have done so ever since. Result broken kite but fun fun fun. As time goes by I know and will realize more and more how awesome the Widow ng design is. Yesterday I went to the top center of window with the Addiction caught an axle and into a fade. Know enough now that the line was was wrapped around the right wing tip and don't know enough yet to pull it out. The kite stayed in the fade and settled gently to the ground .1st time ever wow that's neat to do (still working on the repeat). The awe with a little understanding that I was feeling for the design turned into pure joy. No wow look what I did just joy. It's like the kite came alive. I can't explain it but you experienced flyers know what I mean and probably can't either. It's not unique to kiting but nonetheless. Kiting will always be rehab for me. 5 years ago I looked into the grill of a 18 wheeler coming at me 60 mph. Just enough time to think this is it. Much to my delight I regained conscience and wow I made it. I v'e always played guitar. Started so young I don't remember not doing so. Iv'e approached this sport like I approach a new piece of music. Iv'e ticked off every music teacher I've ever had because I do theory best in the middle. Music has always taken care of my head. Kiting will take care of my head and body. As I was walking to the kite I got to thinking how many times while working out a new riff or cadence somebody would interject do this or that. When I was young it came to blows more than once. I have spent hours studying Handle, Bach, Fernando Sor ,Wes Montgomery, Muddy Waters and many more trying to get this 2,5,1 right you who are without theory!! Unless we're collaborating shut up until you see what I'm trying to do. Result I'm a very poor band mate. As I was just entering into this wonderful world of kiting one that was much loved and respected was leaving.He was not defeated just lost the fight that one day I too will lose. Reading those post I knew I'd found what I had been looking for, for many years . I can no longer ski ,surf or ride motorcycles but I can kite . I am no scientist nor artist but I recognize them when I see their work. In the Yin and Yang of our species I believe those people are our polar opposites and we the masses live somewhere in the middle and because of them most of us in comfort. When the scientist leaves they leave behind a trail for others to follow and their work continues. It's math. What the artist/craftsman leave no amount of left behind instruction will recreate what they created.Whether it be music or pottery their inspiration goes with them and it will change. We still look at the scientist from the past in wonder and awe from Madam Curie to Steve jobs and many many more. With the artist/craftsman we all somehow know this will never happen again. They're creations while still instilling wonder and awe become cherished.In my mind that's one of the most beautifully poignant things about being human These kites like many simple seeming things are a complex blending of science and art/craft. I think there have been many Einsteins and Picassos in our history. I can only recall 2 that blended art and science really well , Da Vinci and Pathogorus. The rest of us all need a little help. Getting close to the kite I started giggling a bit thinking a what if scenario depending on how our history goes. Some future scientist is rooting around and finds a pristine kite from our era. Others gather around, It's pretty must be for decoration, no it's shape says it's for worship, no no the graphics were for communicating. From up on high a group of sail makers pause in their labor look down laughing to themselves at the absurdity of it all. One turns to the other and with slight disgust, says well if they quit fussing maybe they'll find the joy in it just being there cause they'll never figure out it flies. I got my 1st sail material yesterday. The design I'm going to recreate is called the Faux C authored by Jean Herve' on kite plans. So now the other part of my Kite Life begins . As I get out and about I am looking forward to seeing Steve's and others cherished sails. Hopefully I'll learn something.This OPK thing is foreign to me. No you can't use my skis',no you can't use my board , no you can't ride my motorcycle. Play my guitars ,are you nuts or something . You people like to share!! As of yesterday I think I get it. It's trying to share an avenue to pure joy. As I knelt to adjust for launch I paused . In those few moments from the top of the window to the landing of the kite and during the walk of reflection I had become a flyer. Much, much earlier than anticipated. Without my 6 year old grand son begging me to help him fix his broken kite because his desire to fly again was so strong and these forums I would have never known. I base my time here on 4 days of the year. The solstice will be upon us in the coming days and the renewal will start again. The swallows will be back in May. I've been here long enough that most of them will have been born here but they always bring a friend or two. I will be looking at their flight patterns a lot different now. I look back over the thousands of years that sail makers have learned to harness what cannot be tamed and I am in awe. But hey that's just my perception. Like Sparkie likes to always kindly remind. Between heaven and earth that's where kites fly. Peace and fair winds all.

That's true and I think it's working so far .Could be fooling myself though. Marketing is a treacherous mire to wade through in this kite stuff .Premier says wind window for Nighthawk starts at 3 mph . For Addiction 4 mph . Jon T said Addiction would fly lower. After 1st flight today going from 0 to maybe 4 gusts to last hour 3 to 8 guess who was right. If anybody needs me to test this out on Lam kites for a year or so I'll send you my address. You'll have to pay for shipping though I'm trying save.

Stop Stop!! Just got off the phone with Jon T. Keeping the Nighthawk as is and the Addiction stays too. He said the Addiction will fly lower than the Nighthawk. COOL. The Addiction has a lighter spine than the pro so that should help. Neat that you can call like that. Name on my piggy bank down to 1. 1/4 way there to the Pro Dancer. YAY. My decision is final right ?

Had to look up where you live Fluke. Stunning place. Got lost a little bit looking at pics. The kite from Aussie shipped was an additional $40.00 with LE cut and $75.00 intact. Trying to decide how to ship probably lost me the kite. Would have went cheap so it's probably best. We're spoiled here. Most of us don't think about shipping cost but it's always there. Ul soul now $174.00 sigh. When there's no opk around got to have fun guessing. E.g. trying to compare Palladin to SF ul w/o flying. Very little info on Palladin cause a lot of us have to try at an educated guess.I think the Palladin would be better but not as low wind. I guess .

My wife was on FB 4 years ago and crazy really turned her off so she stopped. With filters think we'll look at it again.

Fluke it seems that you and I are close to the same place in our kite quest. You got more air time by far though. For me I keep going back to RobB posts.He's ticked off newbies like us who want cheap kites to do what premium kites do and stuck to his guns. Learned enough to know even if ability intent is low a person will be happier on a silver fox than a beetle with cheap lines. The beetle price tag goes up a lot with the better line set so I didn't bother. So they'd probably be happier with a foil ,I have 2 . I want a Lycos 1.2 (fast).Many here advise patience save and get quality over quantity. What do I need versus what I want at the time. For the price I really want that silver ul. I need something like the Duende. The soul for that price I want but I need my widow ng which I hope is worth $50.00 when I move on LOL. At the start I was skeptical of the used kite market here and on GWTW. I did more damage in 1 day than most people here do in 3 years. Couple days ago I missed out on a great deal for a pristine L'Ateilier double zero. Sat there for a couple days. Scraped for money sold couple things and justified a lot.Kite was in Australia and couldn't find any videos or instruction on how to get the kite to fly right side up in the US but figured can't be that hard. Got up at 4 am hoping kite was still there hoorary it was. Hit up the seller. Sorry he says just sold a few minutes ago. A FEW MINUTES AHH !!! What I think I'm saying is unless your wealthy save and get a Duende and tell me why I should LOL. Not doing the advice I'm trying to follow is hard though. Now I got a premier Jewel and an Addiction I'm never going to open . I got a nighthawk though and I think after a trip to Kites and fun things it's going to be close to the silver fox ul. That's why I didn't buy last night at price drop. I'd say with 0 experience if you need the silver fox ul get it. For the zero I'm going Johns Strange Beast cause I don't know any better.

Yup and I don't have to worry about breathing so much. I laughed at that humor a few times until it dawned on me if I breath I don't panic as much. Result less nosedives. Really turned out to be the best step 1 advice .
