  1. A few years ago my Wife and myself had a competition to see who could make the best Kite out of brown paper and bamboo canes. There was a lot of running going on, not sure that either of us managed a successfull flight. Sure had fun though. Dont remember getting out of breath so quickly when I was a kid though. Still felt like a kid for a while, yep we probably looked like kids too, big orrible fat old ones.
  2. Hey Wen, looking at the vid you did of Chris I must have been standing on your shoulder. I was watching from around the same place, both on Sat and Sun.
  3. The Krystal vid. What a beutifull video. Stunning setting. wonderfull soundtrack. Thank you for posting it.
  4. Interesting project. Let us know how you get on with it.
  5. Some of the power/traction kites have no problem lifting a person given the right conditions. I would have thought if the kite was BIG enough you should be ok. As far as pulling it back in I have a 9000lb winch on the front of my car. That should do it!! Wonder if some other type of lift would be good like a gas filled ballon?? I am a radio ham, just what sort of radio experiments. Only curious.

Now I feel all warm and cuddly inside. Doing my bit to look after animals. And kites it seems.

Skunk you make me larf!! You should have added the "No animals were hurt in the making of this picture" bit.
  8. Now come on Ant, be serious, you are not going to try to stack tham, you ARE going to
  9. I think the correct reference to that is "that is totaly sick" Wish I had young legs instead of a fat old belly, and found Revs 40 years ago instead of 2.
  10. Re read the first post Skitch. Unless you are jesting of course. It says Marco Costa.
  11. Well done on your first place Penny. Hope the van is kind to you. Also hope you are still as active in 10 years as you are now. Heres luck to you with all your good news.
  12. I flew my Supersonic straight into a tree full speed. Wuz lucky though as it flew right back out again. Hope you can fix it. Bad for me today, I have loads of kites and not a breath of wind. Suppose I should go out fly the Bai, in fact I think that is what I will do.
  13. Dont remember the first tim I flew a Sport Kit, seems so long ago. Was flying home made single liners for ages as a kid. Eventually got a Peter Powell stunter. BIG gap in flying till about 10 years or so ago. Bought a delta and a soft foil while on holliday. Then somewhere near Dorchester at a festival about 4 years (maybe) ago saw a chap in the arena flying a strange Revolution thingy. I spoke to him and he just sort of gave me the handles. Of course being used to dual lines I gave his kite the beating it deserved. I can remember thinking if it can stand up to this it must be good. I was frightened of breaking it so gave the handles back with thanks. Found the price and was a bit frightened, the most I had paid for a kite up till now was about £40.00. Anyway made the mistake of buying a cheaper HQ quad (not a bad kite, just too fast for me) Then got an EXP off eBay, still couldnt figure it out so bought a Flexifoil Sting as a slower quad kite to learn on. Got the hang of the handles, than a Rev 1 off eBay, then a Prism (ex Ben from Rev) in a raffle on here, 3 Rev 2's a Supersonic, 2 B's 2 Sedgewicks, a Sea Devil and more, I am hooked. Still no good, just hooked!!
  14. Wonderful, glad you are enjoying it. I am afraid all I am able to do is fly round the sky a bit. The Sea Devil I have is a bit wasted on me. Fantastic kite though, just me not a good flier. Still when I get more time I will get better at it. Tried a few tricks and crashed and burned. Main thing is I enjoy it. I have the Sea Devil and a Prism Fanatic as 2 line. Got Eleven Revs now and a Bia from Stephen Hoath for when there is no wind. A couple of foils I hardly use and a couple of fun single liners for when I feel particularly lazy. Just noticed my earlier post I meant mirror not morrow, corrected it now. My slow fingers on this fast keyboard, anyway that is my excuse.
  15. You might not see an ugly reflection when you look in a mirror Wen, but you dont have my orrible face looking back at you. Looks a NEAT kite. I like the curved standoff design. How did it fly btw? Hope it flies as good as it looks. I am happy at the momoent, Theresas fault, I have just recieved 2 Rev Sedgwicks from her.
  16. Interesting pic Wen, you got my attention. Not seen a Reflection (execpt my ugly one of course) B4.
  17. Hi Denny, nice kites, glad you have "seen the dark" (as in welcome to the Dark Side) The vented could do with a Revolution (to make the LoGo read right) Like the word Quadromaniac!!
  18. Yep some good video there. Unfortunatly I only fly like the first beginner kite. Not even the water bit. Actually I think the young person is probably better than me. Still never mind I enjoy it.
  19. There you go John, nit picking again. Must be a big problem with copyright / royalties. I suppose you are "broadcasting" the songs.
  20. Ooch that looks sore.

    blast stack

Still think you got the stack tied to the car Ant. If you are going to stack a third I suggest you definatly use your truck for safetys sake.

    blast stack

At least it looks like you are being cautious, the lines are attatched to that car in the background arn't they?? Looks like a fairly compact car, couldnt you have used your truck Ant??
  23. I am SO glad this kite went to someone who can USE it. I won a Sea Devil and although I LOVE it I can only fly it and it WANTS to trick. Hope the above post puts a BIG smile on your face Kent. Mike you show so much how you love the Widowmaker. Good post, well done. Like the pic too, so much action.
  24. Never dealt with Kiteworks myself Bass so not sure what response you will get. I have dealt with Theresa athe Thekitteshoppe though and second what Penny says above. She would definatly be a first point of call for me. Not dealt with Kent at Windofchange but he is a great guy if the help he dishes out on here is anything to go by. Nor have I~ had dealing with Cutting edge but have heard good things about them also. Best of luck in your quest. My "pouch" is about 6 sections, easily carries 12 quad linesets. Vry usefull.
  25. Hang on, just found it. http://www.kiteworks.co.uk/Holdalls.shtml It is a UK site. Dont know if this helps. Regards, Chris.
