Yea, I've seen both the newer 3-D and 4-D!! People are using them both for indoor flying too!! 4-D is a bit bigger in wingspan, but supposed to be just as versatile!! Me, I like the Rev indoors!! And outdoors too! Pretty much all Revs, all the time!! WIND THERAPY!!!!!
-
Paul designed the glider I tried at Camas, last year!! Him and Toby make it look so easy, but I've found the Rev to be more to my liking!! Talk about "soul flying", both Weds. and Thurs. nights, were not scheduled deliberately to happen!! Weds. night, I don't even remember the title of the song played during my demo!! All I remember is that it was a Beatle song! Thurs. night, originally they were going to play "Sexy Sadie" for me, but that was too fast for my tastes, and I switched it to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"! Forgot it was so long!!! Almost ran outta steam with that one!! But it was a night I'll never forget!!!! PS: There have to be other links to some dualie indoor action, good luck on TRYING!!!!
-
Very nice!!! Question - Which version of the 3-D do you have? Older or Newer? My 3-D is an older version!! Before the "round" panel layouts that ID the new version!!
-
Don't hold your breath, now!!! There's a bunch of people that want this kite!! Please, please, please!!!

That could have been me at WSIKF!! Came in Wed. night and found the gym was for demos only, didn't have any music, cold (no warm-up), not the best situation, but took the plunge anyway!! They found me some music and off I went!! Enjoyed it so much, I did it again on Thurs. night!!! You hit on something there though, finding a place to go on a consistent basis!! If you find one, it makes getting that Indoor a worthwhile investment!! Getting one before having a place will provide a bit of urgency to look harder!! I have the use of an indoor soccer field during the week, as long as there are no practices or classes scheduled!! Weekends are totally booked for games, so I look for outdoor venues and fly my outdoor Revs!! If you do go for an Indoor, I really recommend watching John B's tutorials on indoor flying!! Covers all the basic stuff and some advanced things too!!! They really helped me get started!! And I can't say enough about the encouragement I got from Connor and his mom, Amy!! She convinced me that indoor was still within my abilities and even let me play with her glider for most of the day at Camas!! Without her support and John's tutorials, I'd still be sitting, watching, and wondering if I could!! Now - YEEHAW!!! Got a saying about indoor - The wind is always the same!!! Good luck and don't be afraid to try!!!

Stepping up to quads equals a large learning curve!!! I think there are still a few dualies in that bag somewhere, maybe I lost 'em!!! They don't get much airtime these days!! PS: just use the initials "SV", I'll know who it means!!!
-
I can suggest 2 things!! ! - check that all 4 lines are equal!! Stake 1 end of all 4, put your handles on, then make sure the handles are even!! If not, adjust the line or lines that need it!! Nothing more maddening than a kite that wants to go somewhere by itself!! 2 - If the kite gets out of control and is about to crash - GIVE TO THE KITE!!! Don't pull, that only accelerates it into the ground and can cause breakage!!!! Even if it means walking at the kite, impacts will be so much less!! That's not to say that these things are delicate, they'll absorb a lot more punishment than you'll think, but up to a point!! Better to keep flying and learning, than waiting for replacements!!! I started on a Backtracker - if you can keep 1 of those airborne, any thing else will feel so much easier!!! PS: What "B" model did you get?? Std, midvent, or full vent?
-
Easier?? Try flying an Indoor Rev!! I know, it's 4 lines, but so much fun!! I just really got into it and I'm 60!!!! Had a stroke, 2 heart attacks, and both hips replaced!! If I can, anybody can!!!

Quakes are a rare deal back there!!! Hurricanes are another story!!! Back in the late 30's, my hometown (Newport, RI), was devastated by one!! Seemed like there was a big one every couple of years apart, there for awhile!!

Kidding??!! I could be ok with mine, but never was 100%!! I could do the long math much better and faster that most!! Never looked at it as a chore, just a challenge!! Process it right, answer right, do it wrong, .........!!! -

I used to have my dad's, but I've lost it long ago!!! Never did have an abacus, probably just as accurate as the slide rule!! -

Like you had to know how to do math, too!! No calculators to do the job!! Closest thing to a calculator was a slide rule in my day!! -
That is major league " old school " cool!!!
