Sorry Amy, no vitamin.... best advise for not leaving a kite on the beach.... and if only I could take my own advise... DON'T leave the beach! heheh Brookings is the weekend of July 17th and 18th. Awesome show. People come and put up seats all day long and watch some of the most fantastic flyers on the west Coast. Team To much fun with the Lumma's, Susan Shampo and Ron D., Centrifigul Force, awesome kite makers like Gibbions, Gabby, Hustons- maybe this year, oh and Champie and Debbie from from somewhere mid-west. Bob Serack and Gary McEachren (sp) and Carl.. and..... Non competitive flyers that should compete, or at least be recognized like Al Strohl. (sp) Tim H. and others just numerous to mention.. All on a single grass field surronded by viewers, vendors and a beautiful setting... harbor, ocean and usually a boat regallo. A banquet, and fun. I can't wait! Amy, Steve and I have an extra bed in our room if you need it. No takers yet. Steve said it was ok. In any case, maybe we'll see you down there. Then we'll know if holding kites hostage works to boost attendance. Trilbymouse huh? to cute! Just be careful around some of those kiteflyers. BB Penny

Thursday night is the AOK... So those that are there go! Kitelife will be Friday night, correct? Rick you must have enough fun all week for me, too. I hope you have a red/white and blue cody for the red/wh/blue day. And when is the cody mass ascension? Got a spare that needs someone on the end of the lines to hold? My very favorite day is train day... and I'm gonna miss it. We should start a little bit of a joke festival.... you know... like tie Carl's feet together.. What could we come up with? Charly have any pictures of the odd kites you have? I've seen Nathan's symphony, but not the cyclone to my recollection. Walk of shame? What's that? heheh actually, If your not trying- your not flying.. and with that comes a little down time, but the rev is self launching in any direction inside, and outside pretty salvagable. That's why I went into the rev. was the self launch prospect, and back then it was like the only kite out there that was truely self launching. Why Rev? Versatiltily, performance, durability. lol We're learning.. We are kiteflyers and kitemakers and look how well we're getting along. I only had to seperate Carl and Rick once this weekend.. Codyman is the only one seeing spots... And llama guy has picked up an ugly habit of spitting after he posts, but other then that we're fine. Of course I still feel a little green after this weekend, soft sand, heat, and a lot of fly tme will do that to a kite flyer. What is the cat for? When your feeling catty? Actually at Lincoln City Carl was voted #1 people's choice and did a beautiful job flying his 3 kites at once. Rick flew his cody's or other people flew his codys... I got to hold one. koooooowl.. I didn't see a bell around my neck.. Though Rick kinda pinnochio like seemed to have sprouted something questionably cow like off the back of his head. You been making deals with the bad boys Rick? Will hoofs be sprouting out of your behind next? It was good to meet him again after meeting him years ago. How did the comp go John? Lincoln City was perfect weather. BB Penny

I'm so tired from this weekend. Lincoln City was fun.. but soft sand is a bad word. Yup, Yup, Yup... Rick flew my rev. indoor and so did Llama guy. Both did very well, but I didn't see no cow's flying? You all have a good day. Hopefully this is the last day I'll be dragging after the weekend. hehehe Aiyana, Why?----because they can. An alternative?. a SUL Rev II. I've got one. Fly's beautiful inside with practice and in a stack.. to kewl... and I still don't have the time on it, so I'm not good on it at all.... yet. But one day look out. I still feel it's going to give me alot of style. Speed and ease. Good lord, those that know me know my hybrids look more like... a 3 wrap on one side, a 2 on the other. What ever is within reach.. Only inside Cody... OUtside.. I can stake that Rev. and it will fly itself. Very tricky. I tried buggying again last night. Tall grass, in a bowl, with trees all around and light winds. Got a few pulls in, but mostly the kids at the softball field enjoyed it and the Rev. BB Penny

Ok, Rick, I see nothing with wrong with role reversal. Any cake jumping and flying to the stripper, can be done by you! <_< Should we take a vote on who would want to see that. lol Hey, What about Moon? Won't she be there? I'm hoping Aiyana makes it, but she might be out of town helping a friend. Gosh, kiteflying is still a man's sport. I'm doing my part in trying to change that! Hey, if they have the indoor open late, I'll be tossing you guys over for an indoor spot... then any rum would have to wait. My kite just can't seem to drink and fly. hmmm, probably a good thing. Well, I buggied at the basin at the Soft ball field. <_< I don't think speed is the word I'd use. The grass had grown up several feet since I'd been there last. The wind was here again, gone again, ugly wind. But I had fun for a few moments before the guys game. Ever buggy in grass before? Lucky I live in WA where I don't feel I have to worry about icky bugs. ewwwww Well, The Superblast did pretty good, and I can still tack. Till next time~ I'll just dream about it. BB Penny

Have fun. If you run into problems, try to figure out what you can do different. Launches, control the kite, dont let the wind control it. Try to point your handles as close to the kite as you can instead of down at the ground. That way when you point the bottoms of the handles up, it will pop right up. If you run into any particular problems let us know. Always hold the handles like your holding the kite, (except in reverse) There is no right or wrong way. It's "whatever it takes". Everyone developes their own style. I was amazed the first time I saw Felix from the decorators launch a Rev. like a two string! It's late, I gotta go.
