  3. I'll take some of that action.
  4. I have! Hung from a strap about 30' up, under one of the old Greens Stratscoops back in the early 90s.
  5. I love that about the KiteLife forum, I think we're mostly multi-discipline fliers... Even I have about 30 buggy hours and 6-7 hours on a landboard, never mind power jumping when I was a teenager.
  6. Congrats Zach, let us know how you get on with it!
  7. Based in Portland OR, proud to help support flying folks' kite lives all over the world.
  8. Thanks for clarifying.
  9. I'd strongly advise against using any harness for power kites that doesn't have a proven quick release system.
  10. Ummmm, other than the Reflex springs and logo change, is there actually a difference I'm missing?

  12. From @BarryS on FB: My reply on FB: Keep it coming!
  13. We would love to hear back from everyone on the TOP TEN INDIVIDUAL SKILLS YOU WANT TO LEARN (or overcome) during this two day workshop - this will help us serve you better and help us put some folks together for mutual improvement. Reminder - this workshop kicks off on the first day with "Quad 101", a surprisingly complete walk-through on the kites, spars, fabric, handles, lines and other equipment as well as mechanics and theory, then we split up individually or grouped by specific interests to help you grow the skills you're most interested in (as well as general instruction) while Josh and I make our rounds amongst the students. The second day will kick off with any needed remedial instruction, and then focus shifts heavily toward team flying - beginner / intermediate first (I am very adept at helping people succeed in their first team flights), building up to more experienced or master level maneuvers and speeds through the end of the class, and we should be able to top it all off with a mega fly! Ongoing discussion on FB, you should be able to browse those comments too (if not on Tapatalk or the KiteLife App):
  14. 12 signed up as of this morning, just 8 spots left now.
  15. Aha, just missed the reference - seen both the new and original series - bouncing white blob.
  16. Aye, slight increase - always thankful to see that.
  17. I remember those days.
  18. Anything but late for dinner, I always say.
  19. Nowadays, 1/8 to 1/4 of one of these, if I'm not busy flying all day. But I also don't do plumes... My little vape unit is pushing 24 watts, no desire to fumigate the space I'm in.
  20. Not even sure how to respond. lol
  21. 3 signed up, 9 spots left.
  22. Keen observations! The Kymera does favor more economical, short, compressed power movements. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I think that experience makes a flier better even if they move / grow into something else.
  23. Flame on brother. I think this is all and good if you're flying a yo-yo and don't actually fly "track". My career started the year standoffs were really introduced to the market commercially... With so much old school background I still favor lock, load, pop, stop, carve, corner, stall, exit right, stall, exit right, snap lazy, exit right to a combo kind of guy... "Track", punctuated with tricks... For this, the snap stall (includes tip stabs) is one of my favorite moves and the mark of a great flight control pilot imho - no slight to tricksters, still respect. More of a smolder than a flame, but good on ya - job done.
  24. Buying juice, or mixing your own? I'm of the strong opinion that e-juice is like, well, "juice"... Go down to the market and pick out "juice" products, varying %'s of actual juice, tap water, sometimes artificial flavors, Polysorbates, Dyglycerides and whatever else, the worst quality would indeed be worse for you than it needs to be. Not sure how far back I posted it, but I'm still mixing my own juice at home... Roughly 2%-3% nicotine (quite low), certified organic vegetable glycerin and organic, pure caramel flavor... Not only do I know exactly what's in there, but I can adjust my %'s to taste - best of all, I probably spend an average of $40 every 6 months for ingredients. In any case, we all smell a hell of a lot better now.
  25. I'll task @Josh.Mitcheson with gathering ideas like this and we'll discuss it, for sure. Thanks!
