  1. Hi Marty - welcome to the banter! You are automatically entered into the prize drawings with an active subscription (you're #960), nothing further required... Give that RNG heck! <grin>
  2. Cool!
  3. Ah yes, the "bat signal"... 3 Revs in a line is like honey to bears for Rev fliers.
  4. All the better for 0-0-0!
  5. Awesome, you're not likely to regret it. More WSIKF info, in case you didn't find it already - http://www.kitefestival.com
  6. Hey-hey Dave, welcome brother. What can I say that hasn't been said already? Flying kites is nice, I like it a lot. All we can do is bonk 'em in the head, wake 'em up one at a time. (I mean the uninitiated, of course)
  7. Heck, I may have to jump on the bike and meet up with you one of these days.
  8. I don't know how I missed this... AWESOME stuff Jeremy, great tunes too. Are you flying on the lawn below? What are the conditions like? Info for others - http://columbiariverimages.com/Regions/Places/cathedral_park_st_johns_bridge.html
  9. Hear hear... WSIKF is the bomb. You're not likely to get as much exposure to all things kiting anywhere else in North America. That, and there's TONS of room for everyone. Past reports: 2009 - http://www.kitelife....festival-wsikf/ 2010 - http://www.kitelife....festival-wsikf/ 2010 buzz - http://www.kitelife....d-record-wsikf/ 2011 - http://www.kitelife....ikf-the-wallet/ We have other reports from previous years, but they're still being transferred to the new format. Hope to see you there Justin, you'll have friends on the Rev field!
  10. I second Rob's sentiments regarding a wand... If you're really immobile, a 3 foot stick will fly *light(er)weight* gliders with a little practice. Just recently, I worked with a gentleman who only had effective movement from the elbow out and he was able to fly the Zen. With full arm mobility, the possibilities really increase. With upper body mobility as well as arm (and the wand), you can fly most anything, it just takes a little practice and patience. Now add 3-5 steps one way, then the other, you're off and running... It's really about efficiency of movement.
  11. Hi Rae, the list of vendors would be the ads along the right side of the article page... http://www.kitelife.com/industry-news/the-glider-craze/ Some of the gliders are speciality (not mass-produced), the stores will typically carry the factory stuff like Zero-G, Wala, Skate and Hybrid. However, if you're after one of the others, let us know and we can surely try to help you find a source.
  12. Brilliant news Rob, glad it's sorted. Thanks for letting us know!
  13. Heya Stephen, we welcome all questions, anytime... However, there are often a slew of answers on the "Forum Discussion" tab on each Revolution product page. http://www.revkites.com/kite-product/revolution-b-series-zen Tons of info there, let us know if you have any other questions afterward.
  14. Only 4 spots left open now.
  15. Come on lucky #000!
  16. So, who gets it sent to their house first? Sits here much longer, I'm liable to fly it myself. <grin>

  18. Alright folks, the upgrade is complete and while DNS changes are still propagating in a few areas, most of you should already find everything working and MUCH faster... Those who have any problems, feel free to let me know here just in case, but they should resolve themselves within 24 hours at the most. Thanks all for your patience and support!
  19. Reminder, we'll be trying again tonight, but please bear in mind that the server will go dark for a few hours in the very early morning hours. we'll work to bring it back online asap.
  20. WOW, you're awesome Rob. Tell you what, you sort out who gets it first, and I'll ship it there. Just let me know who / where.
  21. Ha, great outlook Wayne - but alas, we weren't able to get things switched over last night... Some of our accounts are too big to transfer the traditional way and the process kept failing out. Looks like we'll try again tonight, but there will actually be a temporary site outage while this is done, in the wee hours.
  22. Hi folks, please be advised - we'll be upgrading the Kitelife servers over the next day... Starting in about an hour, we'll be copying everything over to the new drives, then it'll all switch over sometime in the next 8-12 hours (hopefully). You should also know that any posts made on Kitelife and Rev forums, as well as any site changes made on our servers using Wordpress, Interspire, etc may not carry over between now and when we switch servers entirely. Best thing to do, sit tight, stick to Facebook and other forums for now... I've already sent a notice to our web clients, and I'll post back here when we're 100% done. The good news is, all the sites on our server should be WAY faster when we're finished. Thanks for your patience and support!
  23. Jeez, can't a fella sleep in around here? Okay, okay... I suppose you're all waiting for a number. == The lucky winner is... #259 Must86, come on down! Congratulations Rob!!!
  24. While this will be a forgiving, entertaining and educational workshop, make no mistake - this boot camp is for experienced Rev fliers only! The focus will be on learning the ropes of serious team flying and instructors will be working with the pilots to develop and apply: Consistency in spacing (ground and air) Identifying formation reference points Positive drive / sail loading Timing and teamwork Body positioning Team discipline The general format will center around 15 registrants and 3 veteran instructor captains working in three groups of six throughout the weekend - we may break into smaller groups at times, and rotate some interested registrants into lead position for "captain's training"… When we assign pilots to the three teams, we'll do our best to take geographical and team affiliations into account so that those groups can develop together and take the experience with them. We'll also be addressing tuning and flight techniques unique to the iQuad style of team flying… While fliers will be encouraged to adjust accordingly to achieve the clinic goals, the key is to remember that you'll always be able to fly the way you want to afterward - this is just a weekend of team schooling to improve as individuals. In addition to developing and polishing team skills, each of the three 6-person teams will learn and practice a short but stimulating ballet routine (provided) on both clinic days… This will provide a clear frame of reference for personal improvement and identifying the necessary tools for precision team flying. Captains will rotate from team to team while we're practicing on the routine, to distribute their collective experience and styles, also providing an additional (but fair) challenge for everyone… And wind allowing, we'll also work with the 16-person grid (4x4) format - a critical tool used in world record attempts at events worldwide (the current record is 64 pilots in formation). Guidelines: Must be comfortable flying with hands at mid-torso. Controllable figure 8's in a team follow. Generally stable hover in the 4 basic clock positions. Must have 120' high quality spectra lines. Must have STD, and VTD or MID 1.5 Revs. Willingness to strive for excellence. Instructors will be there to help pilots reach their goals, but a basic foundation of control must be in place to keep the team exercises moving and advancing for everyone. Schedule: Saturday - July 7th 9am-10am: Set up, solo warm up. 10am-11am: Stick practice for 6-person routine. 11am-12pm: Flight practice for 6-person routine. - 12pm-1pm: LUNCH BREAK - 1pm-2pm: Solo flying, coaching for weak areas. 2pm-3pm: Stick practice for 6-person routine. 3pm-4pm: Flight practice for 6-person routine. 6:30pm: Dinner (location TBA) Sunday - July 8th 9am-9:30am: Set up, solo warm up. 9:30am-10am: Stick practice for 6-person routine. 10am-12pm: Captain practice (calling), rotate fliers. - 12pm-1pm: LUNCH BREAK - 1pm-3pm: Flight practice for 6-person routine. 3pm-?: 16-person grid practice. Bear in mind, as far as we know - this type of clinic has never been done in North America… We'll be learning as much as you by the end of it, but rest assured - those who come ready to give it their best and accept instruction will learn a great deal. <form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"><input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick"><input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="ABY5UYQBTNHB8"><table><tr><td><input type="hidden" name="on0" value="Registration Type">Registration Type</td></tr><tr><td><select name="os0"><option value="Individual">Individual $75.00 USD</option><option value="Couple">Couple $135.00 USD</option></select> </td></tr><tr><td><input type="hidden" name="on1" value="Your name(s)">Your name(s)</td></tr><tr><td><input type="text" name="os1" maxlength="200"></td></tr></table><input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD"><input type="image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1"></form> NOTE 1: Please let us know if you're interested in practicing and being coached as a team leader by way of a note in your registration at PayPal... We'll only have time for 3-4 students to get a taste of captain duties, but it should be a worthwhile experience. NOTE 2: Please also let us know if you have teammates or regular flying partners who will be joining you at the clinic so we can work on assignments as early as possible.
  25. 2 more days, come on 0-0-0!!!
