  3. The trick with surf, the current moves in and out. Thanks Bill!
  4. Latest addition... FYI, a larger resolution version will be added to the Kitelife subscribers section sometime in the next few days. Sign up info here - http://www.kitelifers.com
  5. It almost always comes down to that "little bit extra" that a flier could have done to be respectful of uneducated or flat out rude people... They exist, deal with it and make nice. Catch more flies with honey anyway... Issuing grief only brings trouble, for everyone.
  6. Just posted elsewhere on this forum... http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1823
  7. I think I remember that discussion. Not so long ago, you've learned a lot in a short time!
  8. Hi folks, It is my understanding that the gallery will now allow users to upload a zip file containing multiple images, something that we've been waiting on for some time... This should make it a lot easier for you to upload images! How to set up your gallery pages? Go to My Controls, then look along the left side of the page for Invision Gallery... Click on "Your Albums". Once there, create an album or click on the drop down menu next to an existing one and select "Bulk Upload". Top of the next page, there is a prompt for ZIP file uploading! Now, you're only limited by the space allotted to your account. == I've just upgraded Kitelife Subscribers to 200MB of disk space, whereas regular forum members can upload up to 100MB.
  9. Oh, nice... There's a story there somewhere, a kite hitting someone, or some fool buggying through sunbathers... No doubt.
  10. Described another way, if I follow this discussion. 1. Lay the kite on it's back, tail towards you. 2. Lift the tail, so the nose is pointed down. 3. Lay the tail backwards so the nose is pointed towards you. When done correctly, it's like the kite fell onto it's face in light wind... Except that the lines are draped over the back of the kite, towards the flier. Once you're back at the handles, steadily (and evenly) draw both lines back until the kite flips over. This is the standard launch method I use when I do not have a ground stake.
  11. I'm tickled to have you on the forum, I think it's safe to say we're all happy to help, anytime.
  12. A few suggestions, take a look and see what you think. Single Rev - Rev Team - Dual Line -
  13. Ooooo... Good idea Ant, I'll check on that.
  14. Indeed... This has been a sore point for me, so close and yet so far. Our schedule has been SO hectic, and we've quickly outgrown our office space. With luck, we'll be moving into a larger space sometime in the next month or two, at which time we'll be able to dedicate specific areas for specific tasks here at Kitelife. Thanks for the interest, keep cracking the whip on us!
  15. Reverse flight, eh? Here it is... Start the reverse input very gently, simply shifting favor in tension to the back lines, without really applying the reverse in full. Once you feel the kite engage into "reverse engine" or tension, then carefully increase the input to your back lines. The key here is "ramping up" to your reverse flight speed, not jumping right into it. Once you've mastered this, you can snap in from forward to reverse quite quickly... But control is the key, understanding how much tension it needs.
  16. Not sure, send Rev an email, they'll know.
  17. It should also be said that Rev will generally sell all white or black sails, which you can then applique on. That way they're official (done right), and a little less work on the whole.
  18. Ooooooooo!
  19. Wow, wish I could play this one! A hearty congratulations Kent, not a bad contest either! Best of luck to all.
  20. My only gripe with the Quantum Pro is that they're SO heavy, not good for light wind at all. No experience with the Cosmic, sorry.
  21. It's generally accepted that if you already have a few Revs, no one will grudge you making a custom or two of your own. The big line is selling or distributing them, a major no no.

  23. Check out this article! http://www.kitelife.com/archives/issue46/r...ons46/index.htm
  24. I've been unable to cut the Crescent City video down under 14 minutes... Will have to figure out where to slice it in half, and send up two vids. Will be 3-4 weeks though, on the road so much this time of year!
  25. Doug, please let us know how it works out after a few flights?
