  1. Hey gang, I'm at PDX right now awaiting my flight to Frankfurt > Zurich, then a train to Interlaken. I'll be landing back in Portland on 7/17, should be back on line that night or the next day. Will try to get good photos and video from the Red Bull show, if I'm not too busy working in it.
  2. Okay, just changed a setting... Let me know if there's a difference?
  3. Honestly, I'm not sure... I'd run into the same issues on my end (traveling as much as I do). It's something I'll check into, when I have time.
  4. If you have trouble playing the video, right click on the video link itself (on iQuad's site), then "Save Link As" or "Save Target As" to put it on your local drive... Once it's all downloaded, try playing it right from your machine.
  5. Should have warned you, watching this video may cause convulsions.
  6. I enjoy almost all sport kites, but the Rev is my favorite by far. As Penny puts it, "Grand Control" is exactly what a Rev offers. There are merits to both dual and quad... A good thread on the subject here: http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1588
  7. We did aerial video, earlier this year. http://teamiquad.com/videos.htm Look for 2007 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival "Come Fly with iQuad".
  8. As a lazy option, if the difference isn't more than one or two inches, an additional knot or two into the sleeving of the longer line, on one or both ends. Sorry, had to toss it out there... I don't like to spend a lot of time on my gear, and that's always worked for me. If you've got more than a couple of inches excess though, you'll probably want to go ahead and move the sleeving.
  9. On the line sleeving (loop), I always tie two overhand knots... Never have any slippage.
  10. FYI, I'll be in Switzerland on July 15th, headed home on the 16th... Drawing might be delayed, but don't let me forget!
  11. Valerie Govig of Kitelines Bookstore has what is quite probably the largest collection of kite books anywhere, in print or otherwise. http://www.kitelinesbookstore.com/
  12. Thank you. It's an old routine, been flying it since 1992! A lot of changes in the last year though, added difficulty and quickness with the B-Series.
  13. FYI, I think Lee had that kite (of his own design) quad lined.... Yes, it's a delta, but quad lined. That's what he'd have been running through the dogstake, even more impressive!
  14. http://www.kitelife.com/videos/mib/leesedg...b_ladyinred.htm First video listed on the Kitelife video pages.
  15. Yeah, it was enjoyable... Nice to take a break with her for a few days. Now, it's off to Canada for a week and a half with iQuad... WAHOO!
  16. I almost never use anything under 110' for dual, quad, tricking or otherwise... Bottom line, I like having the extra space in the sky. Only time I'll use less is if my actual flying space is limited and I need to cut down.
  17. Aye, the Lady in Red routine is legendary... The true inspiration for my Wolf routine.
  18. Warm, lovely... But we're leaving today... Landing in Portland around 9:45pm PST tonight.
  19. Steady, deep rowing to gain altitude is best... The quick pumping is often self-defeating due to the quick release after each pump. Big deep pump back, then easy (slow) release, walking away from your hands.
  20. Happy Birthday Amy!!! (from both me and Shan)
  21. Even on dual line, I prefer 100' or more... Maximum of 125'. Simple reason, my kite can travel higher (longer lines), enabling me to gain more ground. 110' of 50# is divine for just about anyone, with the light wind techniques applied.
  22. Aloha! Great stuff as usual.
  23. Cheers Ken, much appreciated. I checked... They don't have iron-on stuff you can apply yourself, unfortunately, and they don't have a patch either. I agree that those would be neat items to have in the shop, sorry about that.
  24. More importantly, my lines all come out through the same hole... No space difference between them.
  25. VOL, I've deleted the duplicate post you left in another section... Please, what is the purpose of this thread?
