  2. Last time was a blast, with @khsidekick and his family. ❤️ https://www.facebook.com/barresij/posts/10213193525176874
  3. Correct, this endeavor lagged amidst other things - drawing on the 15th, indeed!
  4. I don’t sit in an office pushing kites, nor am I landlocked in a low kite activity region of the world... Between on field time, web presence, training programs and everything else, it probably wouldn’t be a real good idea for any company to copy my stuff outrightand expect to go up against it - just saying. The blur happens with the B and Eyes because Rev did originally sell them under their label, not in the case of the Djinn. Also, you’ll notice I haven’t posted a full pic of the current build - that’s so I can stay ahead of any nefarious activity by putting kites on the ground. And even if someone does copy, they still gotta deliver and keep up with my sincere, natural promotion. No slime, no bull, what I sell will always be real and field-proven. ❤️
  5. Always best to upload to YouTube, then share the link here - saves us a ton of disk space on the server, and easier to share around.
  6. In truth, whump is a single out (tiny release) by roughly 1” with all four lines and then back to tension, securing the pressure into the sail. The double tap is a launch version of that, first tap being to kick the kite off the ground.
  7. Gets easier to tune around 3-5 mph, but every vent and variation at require a slightly different tune - generally not more than 3 knots in any direction. Dive (stop) is the one place I would expect to hear the fluttering at times, but you’ll want to tune that noise out for the most part.

  9. Pardon if I’ve repeated anything from earlier, I’m daft like that and I’d rather it be said for sure. 🙏
  10. And one more thing, an easy telltale, if you can hear your trailing edge fluttering during more than 5%-10% of your forward flight, you definitely need more brake for top performance, this is a sign of “oversheeting” or loss of connection with the back edge of the sail (not truly cupping the wind). http://www.mysailing.com.au/news/sail-trim-for-cruisers-explained Remember, the balance of tension between all lines becomes quite small on a well tuned kite - inputs may be as little as .25” to .50” for some movements or speed control, gross or large inputs will only be required for larger movements.
  11. Also, brake heavier settings allow you to keep the forward gas on more freely without fear of too much gas - conversely, your bottom lines also become MUCH more sensitive, and should only require small tension inputs to achieve the same performance results you had with less brake.
  12. Aye, agreed. Also, when growin into a brake heavier setting, the kite will need to be “activated” to start flying as opposed to a lazy “lift off”... The snap tension in all four lines, favoring the top, often referred to as sail loading or “whump”. Note the “double tap” in my launch, one to pressurize the sail, flex the frame and jump up, the second CONNECTS with and holds onto the tension of all four lines (favoring forward or thumbs back).
  13. Another great resource for kite kits is one of our KiteLife sponsors, at http://www.kitekits.com
  14. Agreed @SHBKF, there is an easily underestimated power in fresh eyes and the enthusiasm that comes with them. 🙏
  15. There is only ONE way to literally add 25+ wraps to your lines while winding or unwinding... If indeed they are real wraps (not false as described above), then you likely wound onto one edge of the winder and unwound off the offer edge - literally the only way to make that many real twists without flying the kite. Oh, possible but very unlikely and not generally more than 10 wraps or so, if you let the two ends bounce around each other in the wind.

  17. Sincere, non-automated welcome to you. There are few folks on the forum who have a Kymera in their bag - don’t be hesitant to engage, no shortage of friendly and knowledgable people here who don’t mind helping out a fellow flier, should be some results using the search function as well.
  18. Yes, 1.5 format, yes, indent is intentional. Whys and hows will be addressed when we have kites in motion and build up a good summary.
  19. Uprights may not be the larger diameter, I definitely don’t claim any expertise on the Reflex line - I think the ideal always, try and connect with other quad flyers, try their stuff (most don’t mind if you ask), different sails and frames (talk shop), then buy what you like flying - it’s like a car, guitar or what have you, comes down to what fits you and will allow you to grow. 🙏🏻
  20. Though technically, they count their new “Reflex” rods as part of that technology (or marketing anyway) - sometimes a bit stiff for performance flying, vs the traditional 1/4” rods. Best to confirm what spars come with the kite (especially in the leading edge), then consult with the forum members for info.
  21. 50’ sure, for tricks, I think I use around 60’ for trick flying - doesn’t leave much response time for “carving” the sky though unless you have the hands, and I definitely wouldn’t go shorter until you “know something”. I’d prescribe getting: 50’x50#, 50x90#, 100’x90#. That would be a solid starter set of lines for dual line.
  22. Fun factor is ALWAYS huge at the clinics, and as I see it, a good weekend of education and fun can literally triple the value of all the kites you already have (applied knowledge).
