  1. VIP Sweety Wren Either of those would be a good start. It's been said they come 'trained' already! LOL! LPG 90# x 10' or 12' is the most preferred line for indoor. Theresa
  2. Are they competitors? You betcha! http://www.nwskl.org/westport_results2006.htm MMPB 1st Felonious Monk 68.200 MMPP 1st Felonious Monk 69.140 MMTB 1st iQuad 59.440 MMTP 1st iQuad 49.048 I don't see the Steveston results posted as yet at the NWSKL page.....maybe soon. Theresa
  3. Welcome to the forum Bill! I hope we get to see you on the beach Sept 10th, as we will be there Sept 9th and 10th for a competition! You can see the real thing vs. video! Theresa
  4. John does one more little trick.....he loops two of the loops together at each end. John? Explain? T
  5. Ahhhhhh....yes..... That was Friday night, wasn't it Don? Did you happen to get a shot of John fading his Sea Devil through Todd's and Dave's quad lines? Thanks for sharing the pic! T
  6. Do you know if beer can cross the border? I'm thinking of a 'house warming' for Egan. I'm sure he'll share with you! Dave? Thanks! T
  7. Hello Litsong! Wait...I have box going out in the mail today for Wen It will get him started on his tool box needs. Glad to hear he's enjoying flying! Hope you both had a good time at NJ Theresa
  8. I shoot for shipping the same day, sometimes the next day if I'm at The Shoppe late.....unless the item is on B/O.....(sorry Ed ).....
  9. I use 26 guage florist wire. Cut a piece about 4 feet long, and fold it in half. Make sure you 'crimp' the fold to a point. (it becomes the tip to push through the sleeving) I use 12 to 15 inches of bridle line as the sleeving. Remove the core. Slide the bridle line onto the wire. Thread your old line through the tip of the wire then pull the sleeving off the wire, over the fly line. Theresa
  10. Yes! Very funny! I know them too! Now Wen....Please go back up to the last post and click edit and remove your address. Not good to post it! Theresa
  11. Hello Wen! How are you? I hope you have fun this weekend at the New Jersey Competition! Good luck! And please say hello to your mom for me (and please give Scottie a hug for me ) Is this a tool box to fit in your kite bag and carry around with you while you travel? I think a good tool box is a small fishing tackle box. There are many shapes and sizes with lots of small compartments for putting parts in. Some boxes have longer rectangle compartments that you can fit small tools in. I like the fact that most of these tackle boxes 'snap' shut tightly, and things won't fall out. Also, go to a craft store and look at the boxes for beads. Again, lots of different shapes and sizes. Small needles nose plyers are a must. sand paper or an emery board. small hand saw with a fine blade. small flat screwdriver. (easy to pry off c-clips with) scissors. small pieces of tedlar patch tape some lengths of extra bridle line (if you need to make new tension lines on the wing tip nocks) small bottle of glue Just a few suggestions.....I always seem to need more than what will fit! Good to see you posting! Theresa ps.....e-mail me your address in RI and I'll send you some goodies to start your box off with
  12. I agree with John. I have the same SKB hard case John has. Works very very well. The Prism RUB checks through very easily, never had a broken kite at destination. (John's SUL ULE is an exception) Also, I have been able to 'gate check' the RUB. However, I only try for this if I know I have time between flights to go back to baggage check if the gate personnel decline to accept it. I do get some funny inquiries going through security screening with it! LOL Good luck! Theresa
  13. All Rev's eh? That's about to change! You may as well come clean with the rest of the world and admit that you did NIP! T
  14. And soon, by Steveston, he'll have an ITRIX in there too! T
  15. The Itrix seems to be the hottest new indoor / low wind outdoor kite for this year
  16. Ditto! I agree!
  17. Good topic for a paper! I hope you get lots of replies. You can retrieve some specs for the kites I have in my kite bag here: http://www.thekiteshoppe.com/sportkites.htm The Surface area is not listed, however the wing span and heights are given.....add a little math....and you're there! If you're up for a visual hands on in a Kite shop environment......just go across I-5 on 45th, west to Stoneway, take a left (south) on Stoneway, go almost to the bottom, and see Gasworks kite shop on the left. Ask for Kathy or Todd Good luck on your paper! Looking forward to the results being posted! Hey...maybe John could even include it as an article in a Kitelife issue!! Theresa
