  1. What you need to remember is that the 1/4" is the measure of the inside of the tube (the diameter I think) not the tube itself. If you were to compare a 4 wrap spar to a 2 wrap spar, the 4 wrap would look bigger, but the hollowed out middle would be the same size. I was confused by this too once. Then I heard John B mentionn something about it.
  2. Good informative post Jim. It sounds like it's just a small hole, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.
  3. Try using Ripstop tape to patch up the whole. Others here may have better solutions though.
  4. I love wet flying. The rain has never stopped me from flying. I just make sure that every once and a while while I's in the air, to shake it off a bit. My revs have never been a problem with water, but I've never flown my Quantum Prism in water, but I can't imagine that it would really absorb much water. With the lines. I've never had a problem. I've never gotten my lines soaking wet, but they seemed not to have a problem in the rain.
  5. I understand Baloo. Sometimes shipping companies are really slow for no apparent reason!!!!!!
  6. You've got to remember, Baloo, That The Kite Shoppe is in Washington State. Quite a ways from the UK. There used to be a kite shop in my area (colors on the wind) but the owner got sick and had to close up. They didn't carry Revs anyway, but I still went to them for lines. Now I'm forced to mail in
  7. As I said earlier, I only ever buy stuff from Revolution or The Kite Shoppe. I've heard good things about www.gwtw-kites.com as well.
  8. I've got to start using them more often! I've used their swap meet thing once, but that was it!
  9. Just me. There is the Lilac City Wind Chasers in Spokane, but they fly at Friendship Park on most Tuesdays (I think) I tried to meet up with them once, but there was no wind, and they weren't there. I'll be in touch with them starting on August 20th (I'm goin to WSIKF, They go there every year). Hopefully I will be able to convince them to start flying at Eagle Ridge, because there's a lot more wind there. Are you going to WSIKF this year?
  10. Some lines that I bought semed a little off once, but the straps came with pigtails on them. I just removed one of the pigtails and it was fine. (I have severall sets of straps for different line lengths that I just keep attached to the string when they are wound up.) Some times a solution can be right in front of your face, but you just can't see it. If there is no super easy solution, to ground stake works good too. I just use an old steel rod that my Step-dad managed to bend one end for a handle with plyers and a concreat floor.
  11. I am a big Rev man Myself! Just look at my Signiture!!!!! Revs may not be found as cheap as you can find duel lines, but they are hard to break ( Unless you know how to) and they give you all the control you could want!
  12. I mostly fly Revs, but occasionally fly my Quantum Prism. I fly at Eagle Ridge park (Spokane) and Browns park (on some school days in Spokane Valley; I go to school at U-High). E-mail me and maybe we can find a time to fly!
  13. Looks like you all had a great time!
  14. The store that I use most was actually perferred from most of the kite fliers I've met.
  15. I would never buy anything from them ever again! This is the reason I stick with purchasing thing exclusively from Rev, or The kite Shoppe.
  16. On mine, it has a small bag that the kite will only fit in if the LE is folded. I think it's like that with many Prismm kites.
  17. If I see someone flying a rev, I set up my Rev right next to them and do a little pairs thing. (I ask first though.)
  18. I have a Quantum Prism, and what I do is break down the LE's, fold them in, then roll each LE in towards the spine. It'll end up looking like a scroll or something. Then I out the spars between the two rolls, and use the little velcrow strap thing to hold it tight and shove it in the bag.
  19. I don't street fly, but from all the videos I'v seen, you should use short lines. I'm guessing 20-40 feet
  20. I will be able to get on a lot more over the summer. I don't ever have time to get online at home on a school day. I'm posting from school, but they block kitechat. I also just minimize it. But I alwayse have to turn the compy off of mute (my mom alwayse puts it on mut for some reason)
  21. I think you would do a two handle snap, while pulliung, then push after the turn to keep the kite from moving forward. I may be giving you a totally wrong description though (I'm not good with all this kite lingo.)
  22. I guess the least complicated way would be to wind each line on a seperate winder, but that woud be a time-taker. Doing things the way I do (one winder, winding up one side at at time) I have never had a problem.
  23. That's what I was thinking too. I was just about to bid!!!
  24. I just use one winder, winding each pair individually, while keeping a finger between the lines so they don't tangle. Sometimes I use a little bit of about 50# string in a loop to attach each pair together.
