  1. 9:15 am and STILL TIME to "influence"??!! YEAH!!! Just a friendly reminder!!
  2. Practice up Matt!! Things you learn at the clinic will work, but only if you put in the time afterwards to make it stick!! There is no substitute for "time on the lines"!! Understand - the clinic will show you the way, but you gotta walk the path!! Look forward to meeting you this weekend at Windless!!
  3. Holding breath, ritual dancing and chants - PHOOEY ON THAT!! I need it !!! I want it !! PLEASE, oh PLEASE pick me!!!
  4. Handles are the same - just add some top leaders with adjustment knots on them if you haven't already!! Topic is covered thoroughly on the Rev forum!! If you're looking to upgrade consider the "B" series - all the improvements to the original SLE design have been incorporated into it!! Spendy, but worth every penny!! I fly all 3 "B"s - std, mid, and vented, love 'em all!
  5. Last chance to give up and give me the win!!! I'll just paste in a reminder!!!
  6. I was just figuring if all the "banter" had stopped, then maybe it will be mine!!
  7. PS: At least take it out of the box, set it up and take a few pix, until you get some proper winds!!!
  8. Drawing is getting near - all the "banter" dried up??
  9. What version of sail did you get? The wrong sail in the wrong winds makes it very difficult to learn!! If you have a full sail, look for winds in the 5 - 10 mph range! Enough to keep airborne easily, but light enough to learn the control it offers!! For higher winds and gusty conditions, a vented sail works much better at evening out the lulls and gusts, much smoother handling!! That's why the variety offered in the sails, to match kite to wind conditions!! A couple of tips: 1. - Remember to adjust the top leaders to the length needed to handle the winds for that day! You will find a preferred knot for most winds, but that's why there are a bunch, to adjust!! 2. - Equalize your lines!! Take a bit of time to make sure your lines are even, adjust as needed!! A line either too long or short will throw out the balance and make the kite seem to want to steer itself!! Not a good thing!!! 3. - Lastly, and I see you're not totally new to kites but - Give to the Kite!! If you're going to crash - let it!! Walk forwards and take all the energy out of the crash!! Pulling on the lines just drives the kite into the ground even harder, risking breakage!! Don't want that!! Have fun and remember to BREATHE!! You've embarked on a lifelong journey!!! PS: Remember that the wind ranges from the advertising are only suggested, it tells you what the kite can do! But in the hands of a beginner, I suggest a bit less, but steady winds to learn on!!
  10. Nick - that might equal Steven's trip over to the Rev clinic or WSKIF, last year!! Somewhere he posted his itinerary from South Africa through someplace in Europe and on to Washington state!! If I remember, he said it was 37 hours altogether!! Would that trip to "Down Under" make you our longest traveler ??
  11. Baloo is in England, so he's familiar with C* and kph readings!! Sorry not all of us can be from the USA!!
  12. No slap and tickles?? Hell, at night I'm just hoping to stay airborne with everybody!!
  13. Eli - how do they hold up to a crash or unplanned landing on the LE?? I know, a good pilot doesn't do that anymore, but for general consumption, I'm asking about durability!!
  14. Baloo - that will only work IF the "luck-o-meter" is in "cahoots" with the RNG!! I'm thinking that the RNG is more "unbiased" than that, giving everyone an equal chance!! At least I'm hoping......?
  15. Matt - you'll find that you'll use the 120's more than you think!! Unless it's a question of space, the 120's open up so much more sky to use!! Things are a bit slower on them, the longer length gives you more time to react!! It will feel like things are so much faster on shorter lines, but that is because you use the wind window up so fast!! Just get some good quality 120's, they'll last quite a while!!
  16. Yep, you got the running at it right!! Makes the crashes a lot easier on things!! Don't forget to bring a stake for holding down the handles while you're fixing things after a crash!! Good luck and don't forget to BREATHE!!!
  17. Now, now, Eli - the # to pick is - That should get the RNG's attention!!
  18. OK, I'll back off - some!! Still, the desire to win hasn't gone away, I'll just tone down the "banter"!! Come on RNG!!!
  19. Now the RNG can make him a loser!! Opened up a whole other avenue of "banter" now!! Come on RNG!!
  20. RNG or not - whining is still.....whining Now bantering is another matter!! Fragile emotional state ...............PHTTTTT!!!
  21. Not even assembled - WHAT?? Need to do better than that, Nick!!
  22. WAH!!!! Quit yer whining, take yer medicine like a man (or woman)!! Good luck all and have a good New Year!!
  23. Well, I suppose I could Fed-X mine over to you, but just for this next drawing. It's done pretty well this past month (1 out of 2, ain't bad), so it might be on a roll. You'll just have to program your number into it, and you should be good to go ps.......you can't tell John, though, he might confiscate it You saying that your "luck-o-meter" has the ear of the RNG?? MACHINES IN CAHOOTS!! OH, the injustice...........!
  24. Might have to look and see where that went!! Could use it about now!!
  25. Alright now, time to fire up the "influencing" methods and win this one!! This ought to get the RNG's attention, pretty quick!!
