Hows Everybody? (iQuad, others i met at WSKIF)
Penny Lingenfelter replied to Chris Michaud's topic in Quad Heads
Hey Chris.. Isn't winter hard sometimes? Not enough fly time! Boy, you need to get indoors. A few years from now, you are going to be saying.. geesh.. I wish I had done this sooner. Hope you are staying dry and Merry Christmas. BB Penny -
So sad, to bad. I tried to get to the WKA/PCKA potluck it's about an hour away. Before I left town we had almost 2 inches of snow and it was still coming down hard. I turned around and headed back towards home. I didn't want to feel sorry for myself, so my vehicle took a quick left into the gym and I stopped and flew for an hour. That helped a little. Afterwards I called my daughter and she brought the grandkids to my house. They hoped they would get snowed in for 10 days, but it didn't happen. The boys and I went to see the play and the first act was great.. and then the power went out. The wind was blowing so hard it would lift a sheet of rain off of the puddles. After singing christmas carols for a while in the dark, we called it an evening and rescheduled for another night. Now, that's how my weekend went. Bittersweet having to miss the annual potluck~but getting extra time with the kids. Now what did I miss? Oh.. there is a picture of me indoor flying the Rev off of the balcony. in the current issue of kitelife.com.. Under Camas Kite Festival. Thank you Monkey! Thanks to everyone this year, who helped to make it such a fantastic kite year. I had so much more then a super blast.. there was the 1.5 and the indoor, and the vented II.. and oh.. it was a "bea-chi-ful" year. Rev on!! BB Penny

What did I miss? In english? What can you do for us? Hi Ben, I am wearing my indoor rods on the ends. Not at the caps, but on the spar over the ferrel. It's grinding, like caps on cement. Would there be something we coud coat these with that would keep it from happening. They do get a bit of fly time, so I 'm not complaining. Sorry, this is probably off topic.~ Are you saying that a 2 wrap should fly ok in 13 mph wind on a 1.5? BB Penny~ who really should email you.

Yeah Penny, we've doing some indoor flying at Steve's De Rooy indoor barn which is about 5000 square feet! BTW am not expecting, but it feels like it only Cheers Mario Oops, sorry Mario... I read it to fast. lol, How awesome. A big barn.. That is going to be so awesome.. what kind of indoor kite flyers will Steve be turning out of that barn? Go Steve! BB Penny

Hey Spence, we have dark clouds here. It's suppose to snow.. Like only an inch, but I don't trust the weather men here. They never call the first snow and it catches many by surprise. I mean.. do they have a new person? When it's -32 and there's moisture in the air, there's going to be snow or rain ice. lol It's suppose to snow this pm. I'm not sure I'll make it either. We'll see. I better get off the computer and work on it. Stay warm.. go fly inside. BB Penny ~next year Camas for you.. you'll love it.. the comps.. the spare gym... and there's a common's area if we had to have more space.

LOL... me too.

Well, one thing to keep in mind. If it was working when you put it in the bag, it should work when you bring it out. Something is wrong. Good luck. BB Penny

Yes, if the bridle is on correctly, and it's flown in the pass, it's probably not your bridle. Make sure both sides of the bridle are even. Quite often, thre is the tinitiest line wrap about a knot on the bundgee, or something that is the cause. Make sure your caps are put on correct and not twisting the bundgee. I fly most of my Rev's with out a bridle, however the Rev II and the speed series are to quick. I keep the bridles on them, to keep them slower. What handles are you using? Good luck. BB Penny

This weekend is the PCKA/WKA Indoor fly and potluck! I've been getting a little indoor flying in. I love that I can go in a raquetball court and fly to my hearts content when it's the only available spot. When I first started I dreaded being in the raquetball court.. Now.. I feel like a magician and the illusion easily flows. Then I got rear ended on the freeway. (Bet you the driver was texting) She hit me just hard enough to feel it. My back is a little tight, but I think my muscles are to strong to hurt easily. Still, I've had to take it easy for a few days. And she ruined my buggygruven sticker. Hey, there's a good letter w/ pics in the quad forum on indoor/outdoor rev's from Revflyer. Check it out. Oh... I bought tickets to see "Sussical the Mussical" with the grandsons. This has the cat in the hat music and is a cute show. The incentive behind my cat/hat routine. Would it be Grandma torture if I had them wear Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes? I bet they wouldn't ever forget it. But would they forgive me? lol Since we have 2nd row seats on the end.. perhaps.. just perhaps.... I could wear my cat/hat costume. lol Hey, it could happen. BB Penny ~ thinking REV on!

How far would you go to fly a kite
Penny Lingenfelter replied to Syruss's topic in General Sport Kite
Was it worth the trip? We almost went. Almost went to Japan twice. Almost went to London, I turned that one down. Almost... Well, I have been on a few Columbian tours.. Very kewl. Flown in Mexicao and Canada. I have to get out more. BB Penny -
Make a few practice kites, rig them and fly them. Lay them out to look good if there is no wind. Let the kids feel the tug of the line. Have fun! BB Penny

I love Rev II's. I like Lolly alot too. BB Penny

Yes, you may tell her that Penny said you need antoher kite and you need it yesterday. you are way to young not to be flying a rev indoor in the winter. What better way to have a great winter? Awww. we all need more fly time. BB Penny who's going to fade away to nothing if she doesn't get more fly time.

A vented Rev II. I've seen Rodger Maddy fly one that was only vent, no sail. It worked well in high winds. BB Penny~ who will remind you, it's perfect weather for indoor flying....

I'll be there in spirit. We'll fly for you that weekend with the WKA/PCKA Christmas indoor fly and potluck. BB Penny
