I've ordered a 5 ft. ball for the kids to play with. Al Councilman will make it. I need a couple of little boles, too. BB Penny

Hello Toy guy. An EXP is a less expensive Rev. Good to beat up, not quite as much of a fly "wind window". To much wind will make you keep it down. A 1.5 SLE has a harder leading edge and needs a little more wind.. so to little of wind can make you keep it down... but the 1.5 Rev. Standard could be just right. It does have a larger window then the EXP. A 1.5 is considered the size to start with. You just have to decide how much money you wish to spend, what is your typical wind like and how much of a challenge are you up for? Avoid the shockwave, superblast, sonic as beginner kites. You can save those for later. Enjoy!! BB Penny

Seattle Family Mentor Kite Festival
Penny Lingenfelter replied to Penny Lingenfelter's topic in Open Topic
It was a fun event. We met lots of cute kids and friendly families. I think my best Rev. flyer for the day was a little girl named Angel about 7 years old. She was a go getter-out flying all of her family. Now, I think I am going to just give up on my age and be 50 forever. Last year a newspaper said I was 50 when I was not yet. This year, Kate, the reporter asked how old I was. I asked her why? They don't put men's ages in the paper. I explained last year they put I was 50 when I was almost and I am not 50.. but poor Kate, with all her notes said I was 50. She did a good job. lol If you are a Rev flier and read the article you will get a laugh. The reporter listened to my no wind lesson and wrote about it. I'm hoping the other newspaper will have pictures up somewhere. Here is the link. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/325562_kite28.html BB Penny -

Glad you found it Glen. The first time my husband and I went we couldn't find it. It was listed on our map under it's oficial name. "Wade Magnuson" I think it was. It is easy to find Patrick. I'm almost all packed. What a mess I left my self after Brookings. Looking forward to seeing you all there. BB Penny Sandpoint Magnuson Park (Kite Hill) 7400 SandPoint Way Seattle, WA, USA It is list on AKA site for more info. Glenn -

It's this Sat. We're ready. BB Penny -
11 quads and room to spare! There was rain on Sat? lol I have a hard time remembering that. My sunburn face says otherwise. It must have been in the morning during set up. Loved it all! BB Penny

Fantastic... You didn't pick an easy kite for your first one and the results are marvelous. Way to fly! BB Penny

Sweet -Tristan. Can't wait to see you with some Rev time under your belt. How can we bottle and sale your energy? BB Penny

Brookings was AWESOME!! Did you make it Leigh? I don't remember getting to meet you. Where else can kiteflyers go and get treated like rock stars? Ok, we know of a few places. Still~ You can't take anything away from Brookings, it was beautiful weather, fun loving crowd, and hard working volunteers. I'm not sure why exactly, but Steven and I left feeling the weekend was a complete success. Was it the good company? The beautiful scenery on the drive down? The great food provided by the sponsors? The weather? We even had a little Rev. grouping w/IQuad and friends. Not sure.. it feels like it's so much more then just that. We enjoyed it all! BB Penny PS The sad part was missing the flyers that were unable to make it. See you soon!

Hello there. Is it the Superblast that has the 5 wrap? I remember Lolly telling me something about a 5 wrap before it came out. I just can't remember if it was the SLE series, or the Blast Series. BB Penny

Good for you Glenn, You are a brave soul. I flew the Superblast on Sat. but not to buggy, just to fly. The light winds gave my friends the opportunity to try it. Sorry I missed you. Once in a while.. I just have to fly. See you in two weeks! BB Penny Down on Sat missed seeing you. I got to practice flying with 25 foot line in preparation for the July 28th fly. Even tried showing some kids the Rev. Blind leading the blind.

Once more.. I lugged my Peter Lynn buggy down to the beach. Stopped by and said hello to the kite makers at the Westport Kite Festival and found kites to oooh and ahh at while I was there. Then I realized how late I was and drove past the competition field on my way to the end of the fields to meet up with friends. We spent the weekend together, Kiteflying, catching up, barbecuing, and getting together w/more friends. Wesport and I do go way back, but so do my friends I met up with. It was a beautiful, sunny weekend at the Ocean.. Hey, here in the N.W. we don't get as many sunny days at the ocean as you might think. I dragged a few friends down to the end of the beach to buggy.. Winds were light, but coming back, so we rode 10 minutes down the beach. only to find.. NO WIND again! Oh, I was frustrated. Uncle! I have no choice. I took my buggy off of the van and hung it till Aug. The next 3-4 weekends are booked up, so it may not come out till Long Beach. Sorry, I missed the competitors. Sorry, I missed some people looking for me. I was there.. Sometimes you just have to know where to look. I flew my red/white spiral painted Rev. 1.5 w/ long sparkling silver tails. I'm luvin the graphics on the kite. They look great in the sky. They will look even better w/ two or more. Well, off to work I go. Brookings this weekend. Woo Hoo! This is a great festival, because the audience AND the kitefliers are close together.. You won't be able to miss me there.. I'll be the one in the cat suit. BB Penny

Hey, not only worth the try, it fits in those hard to fit areas. Small! Lots of fun, lots of tricks.. Oh.. and it's extremely. BB Penny
-
lol Isn't it though? Try it on 4-5 ft. of lines. It's great for tiny areas. Have a good weekend. BB Penny

Westport was the first fun fly I ever attended and I was hooked! This weekend thier festival will be going on, with a dinner on Sat. They will have a competition, but the reason I invite family to this event, is because of the kitemakers. They have the most beauiful kites put up. Some painted, some appliqued. I think it rivals Long Beach's international festival as far as handcrafted kites go. I'll be there playing and giving tips as needed. If there is wind, I'm going to sneak down south a few beach access's to the end of the beach.. because it's buggy time! I want to buggy and the wind God's have been teasing me. There was breaking and chasing high winds till I arrived.. and then.. nothing.. or 1-2 mph. A slow crawl on a buggy does nothing for my need to speed. I've got my Superblast ready. Maybe we'll see you there. Wish me wind. BB Penny

I feel guilty. There are over 5,000 hits on here and I'm not working indoors right now. I am packed for Westport this weekend, if there's no wind in the morning I'll fly the Indoor Rev. If there is good wind in the PM, I'll sneak down South to buggy a little with the Super Blast. I'm realllllllly wanting to buggy right now. Otherwise, I'll be at the festival flying and giving lessons. I don't have my banner w/me, but you can't miss my blue two tone van w/ stars hand painted on it. Yup, the perfect beach vehicle. Hope to see some of you at Westport, WA's kite festival. Rev on! BB Penny

have fun John. did we get pics of the last Red Bull run? BB Penny -
Ahh, you know the weather liars said 10-15 mph in Astoria for last weekend. One friend was on the phone with me as I was headed toward the ocean and they were leaving it. She said, You won't be able to buggy, it is blowing to hard! It's chasing and breaking wind." that's ok. I have a small Sky Tiger and could use my Super Blast in the AM before the winds picked up. They never did pick up. I don't think they were above 2mp. It was strong enough to play with the Super Blast, but not to buggy with. At one point I was throwing a fit flailing my arms and hollering.. I want wind. Jim pointed out if I threw myself on the ground and put my feet in motion too, the wind Gods would listen... uhmmm.. It didn't happen. :confused!: The next day was no better. I did get a good visit in w/friends and some fly time. Managed to show a few people how they fly. One girl about 16 jumped up and down beaming at her friend. When I said, "Guaranteed to get you up in the air and you are in control, not the wind." She chimed in, "She's NOT kidding!" They didn't get to stay long enough, but Chuck has a Rev., so I'm sure we'll see them again. At Westport on Sunday I was tempted to pull the buggy off, if there was wind. The ranger did me a favor by stopping by and suggesting I take it down south if I wanted to buggy. Glad he stopped by. I was uncertain if I'd get a warning or a ticket. It stayed on the van. I met someone on the beach briefly who was selling weights. He would have liked my opinion, but I really had none, as I don't use them. Well, off to work I go.. leaving the buggy on my van in case I sneak down to Sunset from the festival next weekend... Hey, it could happen. BB Penny~Who wasn't sore enough from the weekend.

The new graphics are looking great in the sky. Nice Anthony.. nice. BB Penny

Sunset Beach Bum Buggiers rule the road at the edge of the sea. Buggy On! I feel the need for speed. The plan is to run down to Wesport and visit w/friends on route maybe to Sunset. It would be the place to play with buggiers. If I don't make it down that far, just know I'm buggying further North. BB Penny ~With the Super Blast ready to go.
