  1. Mine too!!! Hey, are you a future performer Tristan? BB Penny
  2. I just received an email that Tristan will be at the indoor at WSIKF on Thur. & Fri. There is so much going on both evenings. Be sure and poke your head in and see our latest wonder child flying. BB Penny
  3. So there you are. Glad to see you are still out there. Florida sounds good. I'm packing my buggy tonight. Headed to Long Beach on Sat. and Sunset sometime before Monday probably. The wind has been feast or famine here. High winds or no winds.. Pray for any wind for us! BB Penny
  4. Spence I do not care for the indoor caps at all. They will fail me when needed, ie the middle of a demo. I switch them out as quick as possible for an outdoor cap tied on w/ good 90 lb line. I've not had a problem yet with a redo. The caps are a little loose, but it does not really matter. Not take some of that pent up anger and beat up the sky with your Rev! BB Penny
  5. Sam, have you seen them fly off of a stick? I've got the black octopus kite pin, "size does matter" 4" does sound small. Though the idea of traveling with them sounds inviting. I am looking for red/wh/blue for next year.. Not butterfly's but something.. it has to fly off of stick so it can be used wind and no wind. Tough, for the kids to drag along or loop de loop into the ground -before you remind them to have the wind on their back.
  6. Cute, I hadn't seen one of those before. 1/2 the size of a Rev. II?! I bet they are quick. BB Penny
  7. How beautiful! Tell me more. BB Penny
  8. Good morning. What length lines were you using? You can catch on 100 ft. of lines. If there is wind you must run fast. You can throw on 100 ft. of line. Again.. you better move fast. There are all sorts of tricks to find outside. Try this one just for a kick.. when you make it look good let me know. Kite facing 12:00 at the top of the window. Close your eyes, put your head between down so you can't see and set the bottom of the handles on the ground and wait. When done right it should land facing 12:00. Again, the line length is going to determine the tricks that you can do, create, and share. BB Penny
  9. Check it out! Ron Suyematsu designed this one. Good job Ron. He's actually designed the INdoor pin the last couple of years and kept the same concept, but changes it up every year and even added to it. Fantastic job Ron. If you need the name of the person on the pin, it's at the bottom of this post. BB Penny http://www.nwlink.com/~ronsuyem/2007Pin.htm Mr. Tristan Underwood
  10. lol Well, I'll have under 20 of them. PVC pipe that is long enough for the spars and still fits in my bags. I'll go looking. No doubt I'll actually have to tear the lines and sticks off to pack.. Yuk. that's work.. oh well. it's better then rain. BB Penny~trying to avoid knots.
  11. I am new to single lines in a sense. I never needed them in my own kite bag when all I had to do is visit friends and enjoy their kites. Things have changed. I love a kite I can put in people's hands and this year it's my Butterfly kites from Gomberg Kites and thier retailers. I just ordered a few more...just can't get enough of those butterflies! My problem is storage and traveling. Most of you must have single line kites you carry. What is the best way to carry them for traveling? A kite bag, pvc pipe? take off the line and sticks... yuk.. extra work but maybe it's necessary. any advice would be helpful.. Penny~ a Linus when it comes to gear.
  12. Spence it is you! Sorry, it's hard to keep up w/people's names, let alone their alias. the kite pin~ I have received permission once I let the person know. Surprise! He doesn't know. Spence, bring your indoor if you like. I should have a spar you can borrow. Whichone is it? Hopefully not the center. I am down to 2 centers. I look forward to seeing you. BB Penny
  13. Wind got it right. I've met a few people who could fly Rev's fairly good for a year before buying the Blast. They couldn't fly it. I bet they could now. BB Penny
  14. Hey, but I can't come up with the name from Watty? Spencer maybe? BB Penny ~trying to guess who Watty is.
  15. Kewl, come say hello and I'm Watty on the forum. BB Penny thinking you will like the Rev indoors.
  16. Have you all seen the pin for WSIKF's Long Beach WA's International Kite Festival 2007? It is so awesome.... it is so kite Kewl... designed by Ron S.... It has a picture of ............. Can I tell them Ron? Can we show them? How many pins are there? Are there a 100 of them? It's a picture of .......... a really great flier... but I guess I better not show and tell with out permission. Oh, they are so cute! RRROOOONNN. I'll ask. BB Penny... loving the new pin.
  17. Hey Monkey, Wow, great article in the Aug/Sept Kitelife.com. I just read it and enjoyed the new info. Wind a straight line? How brave! How brazen! And it works? I'll have to check it out. It was enough to perk my intererst. The classes sound awesome. I'll have to find out what day they are. I can't take the whole week off. Saving those vacation days for an adventure ~ Now, can you still teach an old dog new tricks? Best Breezes, Penny ~
  18. Thank you.. Mary did good. I don't match my kite, but I can live with it. BB Penny Whew.. Getting closer to Long Beach!!!
  19. That is great to know. I don't mind flying in 30 mph and I'm tough-tough I tell you on kites. :0 The glue seems to hold verry well, I went out today, winds at 15 mph with gusts upto 20 mph, kite behaved super and the glue to
  20. hey Monk, We'll save some dirt for you to camp on if you come down in the wee hours of Sat. night. BB Penny I MAY pop down for some time on sunday, depends on a bunch of things, including the border on a BC long weekend
  21. Kewl Black Widow spider. Great with the jazzy version of "Itsy Bitsy Spider'. I'll try to post a picture of me dogstaking that Mary Ostey (sp) took on Kite hill. The kite is in front of me, and the wind is blowing my hair and dress showing the direction. I think it's my favorite picture, because I can see the wind.
  22. Very cute. There shoud be a market for it with the right marketing. People always think you have to walk to fly indoors. Usually they mean dual or quad line. You can fly single line kites inside w/ little or no body movements or off of a stick to make it even easier. A Rev indoor can be flown with almost no body movement, but it takes practice. Sometimes people tell me we don't have enough room for you to fly. The think is we are using the floor space and air space as much as possible for effect more then necessity. Good luck with it. Enjoy! BB Penny
  23. Great pics. lol at those boys.. talk about you have to have a gimmic. lol You go boys. BB Penny
  24. Kewl, Since I'm not a sewer, glue sounds like a good fix. But I am tough on everything, so a little glue and tape might be what I need. Good to know...... thanks. Let us know if the glue comes undone, too.. oh... what wind conditions were you tested wit? BB Penny
  25. Though if you are going to the trouble of a SLE, I would suggest buying the smaller leading edge and putting it in. That way you have a leading edgoe for the light wind and one for heavier wind. BB Penny
