Aww, I missed White Rock. I was uncertain houw big a field it was, hadn't heard from Aiyana, and stayed State side at Ocean Shores. Woo Hoo. It was a wonderful weekend of wind! I'm not so gun ho about the kite team mouse.. It's the idea.. of alll of you leading the bunch in song and ducking down every so often that is making me giggle. But if you'd rather just fly a kite. Hey, could you ask David if he has any good pirate pictures? I'm looking for a new pic for the Brookings Bio. People pay for that Brochure, so I think the flyers should change it out every year. Steve and I went to the gym last night. to fly. woo hoo. we shared the vp between other kites. Steve was so impressed when I did an axel. (I wish I had done it on purpose) lol It was a little easier the 2nd time though. Yes, the liines are longer, so I'll be shortening them. BB Penny

Yup, long and slow kiteflying has a wonderful mystical appeal. Sam Ritter Flying his Rev indoors on long lines was sweet. Ok, I will look closer at those lines... I'll keep playing at it. I can't wait to get together with a dual flyer who can give me tips. It would be nice to be able to show a dual in comparison... but my heart belongs to REV's. (and Steven) Good night. If I don't have anything else, that would sound wonderful to go to Bend... But here's the thing.... IF we recorded the song... (can we do that?) and IF I flew to it... that's a BIG IF! I would have to have a team..... and they would need to be Plane Girl, Trilby Mouse and maybe Carl... and Lisa and would Steve join in.. oh and Doc and Rhonda and everybody... The main team would need to: 1) Do a "llama dance" while I flew to it. 2) Pull in a few audience members to help. 3) When the word Duck is mentioned, the team would have to DUCK! 4) The team would need to talk the audience into helping them DUCk! Bended knees and all! Everyone would dance and duck down on bended knees.. You could even read it to the audience over the microphone so they know when the ducks are going to come. We could start the LLAMA Dance with the LLama Song! It would sweep the world. I would fly to the song.. till you throw something at me and I duck~ Or better yet, have Carl fly to this with all his little llama's around him. Somehow I have trouble seeing Bosley doing the LLama dance. What do think? Can we rally a team? BB Penny

Trust me, I posted in the right area! Beginner.. You would love this kite. It can do things no other kite can do. But the title "Master Kiteflier" has to be earned. It means you've put the hours of practice in to make the kite do what you want it to do. As a non-dual line flier, I was not magically able to instantly fly this kite. I'm not sure if it is even rated for beginners. That's not to say I couldn't fly it. Still I was struggling because I don't know how to control a dual line kite to start with. Knowing how to keep it moving helps quite a bit. So if someone is looking to buy this kite as their first indoor dual, know that it will take persistance. I flew rev. I flew Lam's , I flew rev, I flew Lam's. Hey, learning to fly a 1.5 Rev. indoor was't easy either... but I have persistance.. I know if I keep at it... I can.. I can... I can maybe do a 360! It's something else to play with. lol.. I can do 360's and overheads with the wren. It's just been a few years since I tried. Oh yes, the guys in the gym liked it. Their statement when I was leaving was, "You sure look like your having fun flying your kites." My answer... Always! And then an invitation to try it next time..... Hey John, I'm using the lines that came with it. Looks to be about 12 ft. Do you think I should use shorter lines? Rev On! BB Penny

More indoor practice. I'd been working on my one handed indoor rev practice, but Steven bought me one of Lam's Dual Line Indoors.... Dual Line... woo hoo.. I posted about it under novice questions, because that's what I am with dual kites. I'll be taking it to the gym to fly it for the first time today.. I feel like I might have just entered the twilight zone. It is an awsome kite. Hey, I guess if you have trouble seeing the demo video's like Lincoln City's indoor, you can ask for a direct link. (?) Let us know. It is some awesome video of a wonderful event. I'm talking with Seattle about some events. Darn, I don't want to be an organizer... I want to be a kite flyer... But if already established events have coordinators like a lot of big signature events in Seattle's, we can piggy back ride, without as much foot work. Enjoy the Day! BB Penny

The reason I ask is that some friends complained about their lines being off.. none of them the same size. I checked and yup about a 1/4 of an inch. Perfect is best, but it wasn't enough to make a difference. To them, it did as beginners with their mind sets. A quad being quicker... takes a different control then a power kite. It takes a bit to get use to them. I'm not kidding... I had major problems learning to fly a power kite... they don't respond the same. Knowing how to fly Rev. and having preconceived ideas, I'd say it took me longer to learn then people who had never flown. Sorry, I've not seen a Firebee, so I can't help much here.. if you had a rev... BB Penny

Wow! I was floored. Steve couldn't wait to give me my anniversary present. He really was twisting my arm to open it now! Banner Poles? I need banner poles. Nope! A custom made Lam Hoac Indoor Dual Kite! Our wedding colors, (which were our kite colors) pink, teal, and purple... A special insriptiion, original wedding date and Lam's Signature. Lam even called me and I didn't put two and two together. Way to keep a surprise guys.! It's a spectacular kite, Lam! I've seen the kite fly indoors. it's the only dual I've ever seen do a complete reverse overhead or maybe they call it a fade overhead.... whatever they call it Lam made it look so easy! (wonder if that's where the word "Master Kiteflier" comes in? ) Wow, what a Man! My husband never ceases to amaze me. Ok, now I have a little indoor, with a few small vents.. and extra spreaders like in a .03 or .05 I'd guess. John, Lam.... What do I have? Which one do I have? I know it's very very special! Is it an UL Sea Devil? What is it? How easy to learn on is it? I know it's amazing... but will I be frustrated with it as a two line novice? I'm going to the gym today to try it. Thank you, Lam. I don't know what a Firebee is? My first question would be were there pairs of lines the same size? None of them were the same size? Bet you were ticked off. Quad flying offers many challenges.... that shouldn't be one of them. BB Penny

Face plant.. been there.. splat that... Hey, don't forget once you learn.. or even at the same time to turn your wife on to the Rev. Woman love this kite. Hi RG, Welcome back. You'll love the Revolution 1.5 and yes, it will help with the Super Blast. If your looking for more then "just" speed, the Super Blast... is a Super Blast! It offers low wind flying and ballet, as well as speed. They fly similiar, but not the same as power kites. The response is quicker, the control more precise. The flying will depend on each pilots flying capabilities and personal learning curve. Unless your just a natural (and they are out there) you will have to practice. Ahhh, tough luck huh? Now which 1.5 will you be picking up? A SLE or standard leading edge... or are they calling it classic? Enjoy your kite and the hollidays. BB Penny
