  1. What about the field where we have the kite festival? It would work. BB Penny
  2. I am getting closer to complettion on this years routines. They are actually two seperte routines that are linked. 2 songs on each routine. As usual the times will probably put me out of competition with them. That's ok for now. it really takes me about 2 years to get a routine ship shape. These routines are for the shows. I spent an hour and 1/2 at the recording studio yesterday doing my voice overs for my routines. Hopefully the audience will like them as much as I do. 1st, a pirate who shares the secret that pirates actually are kitefliers. (hey, the proof is in thier raggedy pants. They needed cloth for kites... and all those one handed pirates with hooks.. well... that's what happens when they use the sail cloth! (ok, I didn't explain the hook part in the voice over... didn't want to scare the kids) I see gold at the end and jump in the water to go after it. Ending with "Man Overboard!" Duffy at Meat locker recording studio did a great job putting seagulls and music behind the voice. Then my leprechaun voice over.. "sniff sniff. sniff sniff.. I smell a pirate He'll be after me gold!" .". but uses her rainbow to fly her pot of gold away. It's John Wayne's "Quiet man" music very fast and gains momentum. I took it indoor to try it out and it's doable. Though I hope CA is cooler then lst year. Mom keeps saying she wants to come up and watch.. But I get in the gym from 9-10 pm with headsets on.. I just don't think there's much for her to see and keep putting her off. So I called Mom to see if she would like to come to the gym, hear it and maybe hollor, "ANIMATE Penny" lol Any coaching is a plus! It's easy to fly the kite, but moving your body takes some practice! This means my routines for 2005 is about 2/5 done. The Music, voice over and planning. Jerry @ Fincher's Airforce is repairing the leading edge on a couple of old Rev's. I still need to paint one black w/crossboones. We'll see what happens. I'd really like to plan a trip to go play inside with the east coast flyers, just to see how their progressing, have fun and gleam what I can from them. It could happen. BB Penny ps I'm sure John will be so happy when I get my web page up and quit using the forum to vent.
  3. Chris wasn't kidding either. They do stand behind their product!! He mailed me some air-yo's!!! I can't wait to watch the DVD. My husband even came to the gym with me Monday night to work out heheh and play with the air-yo. Chris... I only wanted the little yellow cap that keeps the graphite from splitting the line. One fell off and I couldn't find it. I'd like to donate the ones you sent me to events that their not already present at. Is it possible to get the little yellow caps from somewhere? Even a hardware store? I tried fixing the graphite pole, but it didn't hold. I did open one of the packages and used the wand. Thaml you Chris!! BB Penny
  4. I mailed the Windless DVD's out. Pleease let me know if you don't receive them. Thank you again. I hope you enjoy the DVD.. I know we sure enjoyed making it! BB Penny
  5. Hi Tullo, My daughter and her family will be moving to Italy between now and September for 3 years. We will have to plan our trip to see them around a kite festival or two... and indoor! It's a small world... one sky, one world. I hope we get to share a piece of it. BB Penny
  6. Hi again Don, The glitch I was referring to was at Arlington's Up Your River, dvd. Allen said there was a small glitch on my performance. I would rather have that one posted then Windless. woo hooo... kite season is here in full force! BB Penny
  7. Think long term goals. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of you. BB Penny
  8. OOPs.. these double post are getting me. Renton, WA... by Seattle you say. Orting sounds great. Bring the whole family..and start a team.. BB Penny
  9. Nice to meet you Katelyn. Kewl, you are very close for kiteflying. There must be school fields over there or someplace that you practice? Kite Hill is over there. I live in Port Orchard, WA across the water from you guys. So maybe we can get a lesson sometime before now and LongBeach. Seems like someone up there should be having a kite festival. Have a "beach chi ful" weekend~ BB Penny
  10. I will! Hopefully I'm going to make it to the post office today! I decided the dvd must not have a glitch... it's my player? i"m hoping to send off twod dvd's today. Better late then never right? You know i would be dangerous if I was organized. Have a pic of the banner model? BB Penny
  11. It's getting closer!!!! Paul DeBakker from Holland who I flew with on a South American Tour, Wayne Turner, Jeff Reed, Jerry cannon, Scott Davis, Lam Hoc and the Parks! I can't wait!!!! You know who I wish we could get is Tori.. (?) He was a dual line flyer who impresseed the dualies around here when he was in the area. He always had some exciting move to show the fliers. Maybe we'll see him in the future. In any case, the line up is going to be a fantastic show. You should tell any friends or relatives in the state. It would be worth a drive to see this line up. And kids kitemaking and arch kites. I hope Ms. Cooley drags my butt into the commons area to add an arch! I can't wait!!! BB Penny
  12. Yup, Aug. 15-21. www.kitefestival.com Indoor-No Wind Kite Flying Wed. and Thurs. Fighter Kite flying all week. Every day fun events and multiple color in the sky. Each day the sky changes it's looks because kitemakers have to many kites to put them all up! Find Sam and Ann Houston and ask them about the kites on top of their refrigerator. Their my favorites. Oh.. train day is my favorite.. trains across the dunes and over the town. Red/Wh/Blu day. Long Beach International Kite Festival or Washington State International Kite Festival "WSIKF" Elephant ears, terriyaki tuna, chicken fajitas, more food smells then you can imagine. Kite stores, hats, glass, stoneware, there are a plethora of retail vendors. A charming town with pubs within walking distance and a wide selection of food. Oh and the most beautiful and largest collection of kite earrings availabel anywhere! ok.. Ok.... Ok... I'm back... I just went there! You will love it. I want to say more, but I have things to do. Where are you from flying fish? Sorry, I got side tracked. You will LOVE Long Beach! BB Penny
  13. Hi, Sounds like you hadn't tried the quads yet? I would charge...... nothing to give you a revolution quad lesson at Long Beach. Then you know what it's all about.. all about the control. B rakes, reverse and speed control. You can fly duals and quads and enjoy both. Hope to see you at Long Beach. Hey, you might double check the dates. There was some controversy at our last meeting about the dates. Best breezes, Penny
  14. Ok, I cringe, I'm not dressed up and there's nothing fancy on the video. You can use it as a teaser. Tks Don!!! BB Penny
  15. I'll probably think it's ugly. To bad I hear there's a glitch in the God Bless the USA... at Arlington.. that felt good. Thanks Don, It's ok... I'm going to start working on my web site soon.. really I am. BB Penny
  16. Now, an airyo is fixed.... (it's a no wind toy, that's why it's in this thread) and my buggy is back together..(wrong thread, but I'm just glad it's back together) and my gold coins are made for my leprechaun kite. I've reinforced them as much as I can, but I'll probably take them inside today to see how they hold up today. BB Penny
  17. There's a joke in there somewhere. Yup, I think I know which one you are. Geesh, you'd think an Island would have some place to buggy. That's to bad. No big fields?.. oh, wait.. I kinda remember an odor... nevermind. lol Yup, the ocean is the best place or a large field that is ok'd for buggying. To bad the ocean is so far away. But lets keep it there. We've had beautiful days with no wind.. so inside flying is nice now and much warmer. Have you tried that yet? Ft. Flagler would be nice. I should check their weather report. It's in a bannana belt. Is Ft. Worden in the bannana belt, too? Have a great day. BB Penny
  18. I'll try to find out, though I would think we all would still be there Sat. With Sunday for travel. Last year the Parks did have to leave early for another show. BB Penny
  19. I flew the air-yo outside at lunch. It was a lot of fun, though I thought I might have a fat lip there for a minute. Then this evening I took the rev, flghter, and air-yo inside. Playing with all three in turns. There were maybe 10 people and they had a lot of fun. Lots of laughing going on and a couple of the boys were very good with the 1.5 Rev! The mother of three of the boys and I introduced ourselves. She said she had seen me in the Admiral Theatre talent show. Her daughter was one of 6 pianist who won! Her son was in it this year and when she called her daughter in CA to tell her how it went she said her daughter just wanted to know how the lady kiteflyer had done. lol awww... shorter lines! Anyways, it was a good fly except my third air-yo broke, luckily after most people had left. That's why I think a little sturdier made would be better. I have to add hunting the right wire for a threader to my to-do list. <_< What is the best way to seal that wand - stic/spar so if the protective cap comes off the line doesn't slide down the spar cutting the line? It was a nice fly... I'm still smiling, but tired. Rev~on. BB Penny
  20. Dang, Tomorrow I need to go hunt that bolt. ewww. Going to a hardware store is not my favorite thing. I'm female, I rarely go in hardware stores. But I do think a good Kitemaking class at a hardware store sounds like a dream kitemaking class for me. Imagine having Grand Master Sam Houston actually take us to where you buy the connections, tubes, etc. The right tape. That would be awesome. Wonder if Sam would take us on a tour of a hardware store using his kitemakers eyes. Would anyone beside me benefit? So someone should conduct a kitemaking class at a hardware store! Tomorrow for me ...go find that bolt. (and me green shamrocks for me kite tails) Have a great weekend! BB Penny
  21. Thanks Don, I'll see if I have one of your copies at the house. It might be at another friends house. Yes, I'll try to look at those this weekend. If it's ok, I'll send them out. BB Penny
  22. Kewl Kites. The hawaiin built is awesome... the Randy Tom's gorgous, but where is the Peter Lynn Shark? BB Penny
  23. Hey Don, How kewl you two might make it to Lincoln City. Steve is going. He likes to go to some of the events, especially big ones. I forgot I got to demo at Whidbey. In the past, if you weren't competing it was hard to get a demo on the roster there and most competitions. That's understandable, but frustrating. Hey Don, I got those dvd's from Wayne and they don't appear to be working after the first 3 or 4 fliers from L.B. It';s like 1/2 of everything demo, hot tricks, and ballet made it on there. Did you add to those before I got my copy, or is something wrong with the DVD? I'm going to have to take one to a friends and make sure it's not my dvd player. I want to send them to some sponsors, but would like them complete... and even a little video of me on it would help. lol BB Penny
