  3. It's @BobL's ISO ad, he has first pick for sure, I'll be in touch soon as I locate the kites. 👍🏻
  4. One foot stake should be a-ok. 👍🏻
  5. Ok folks, our payment gateway appears to be working properly now! @ruthl1, @Deke Haid, @Melissa Wallace - should be all set now, no further action necessary. @Wooljr's subscription is also good now, so feel free to sign up for the clinic if you like! @Fosgatekc and @Mark Jones, your accessory orders have processed and we'll ship ASAP. ✌️
  6. I might have a couple of the new Skyburner Widowmaker Pros (standard and UL) I'd let go, have to find them... This is the standard, UL is same colors: I'll try and take a look next week if you're interested, out of town atm.
  7. @bbailey49? Any tips? Right area?
  8. We're not running out of spots yet FYI, and I'll remember the true "first come first serve" order of attempted sign ups, you too @Wooljr (won't lose your spot). 👍🏻 Please stand by. 🙏🏻
  9. Also, two orders for leaders have failed the same way for: @Fosgatekc and @Mark Jones These orders are not in process until I figure out the payment issue. 🙏🏻
  10. We're actually having problems with our credit card gateway here on the forum so everyone who registered using a credit card got a process that looks complete, charge is appearing on their statement, but the payment actually failed on our side so the registrations have NOT completed and the apparent charges should void themselves soon if not already. Affected: @Melissa Wallace, @Deke Haid, @ruthl1 Also affected, one member who tried to subscribe to KiteLife using a credit card: @Wooljr Terribly sorry for the inconvenience, I'm having our tech support look at the issue - in lieu of a timely solution, I may need to make payment arrangements with you directly in order to finalize your sign ups once you've verified that you've not actually been charged. 🙏🏻

  14. Join us for two full days of in-depth roundtable quad instruction for all skill levels with 31-time US champion John Barresi at Johnson's Beach near Pensacola FL on February 22-23, 2020... This is the workshop for folks who want to build up their solo skills and the very basics of team flying! Exact location - https://goo.gl/maps/3eQTPjfRmtH6iRSp8 We'll be covering everything from absolute basics (pure beginner) all the way up through advanced techniques and team flying, as well as identifying short flight routines that are sure to help your skills along while having fun at the same time. Saturday morning is always a group presentation, full 101 on the ins and outs of quad kites, equipment and related theory, this covers a metric ton of stuff that even the "pros" think they know, but don't... From there, we usually go through the fundamentals of clean launching, landing and control methods... Students then break up onto their own kites to work on the "homework" (maneuver combinations) that I'll distribute beforehand, during which instructor(s) will make the rounds between each flier, offering supporting instruction, as well as addressing individual interests. Sunday is the same without a 101 presentation, followed by a couple hours (or more) of team skills introduction to close out the day. Students will use their own kites, any line length will work (80'-90' is very common) but 120' length will be required for team exercises. Must be spectra or Skybond lines for team flying. Testimonials - http://tinyurl.com/jb-testimonials == Registration is $150 per person and includes full access to the clinic on both days (10a-4p), discounted to $125 for KiteLife subscribers. Clinic sign up here - https://kitelife.com/forum/store/product/102-2020-emerald-coast-quad-clinic-feb-22-23-2020/ == Please note, there are only 12 spots available and we expect them to fill up very quickly. Also be advised, there is a State Park fee for parking - $20 is good for 7 days, full info here: https://www.nps.gov/guis/planyourvisit/entrancefees.htm == Signed up so far: @David Coffey @Gabriel465 (Joe) @Bryant @Melissa Wallace @ruthl1 @Deke Haid @DonFibonacci @Tdowns @Wooljr TBA TBA TBA
  15. You can go back over the same holes, but of work but totally possible - and about perforation, depends on the size of the panel, location, etc. For vent prototypes, I just keep sewing on new layers and cutting out the old ones from behind.
  16. Yes to re-hacking an existing configuration, more vents or tape, but only in brief to smell if it's going the right direction... I also have no patience, but get pretty lucky with wisened cuts.
  17. Alas, I'm not much good for data because I don't "design" per se... It's more like sculpting, because I know a feeling, a look, subtle proportions, I have 30 years worth of experiential (not scientific) experience on the platform so I know what I want and can see / smell a ghost image of it in the back of my mind so it ends up being more intuitive. But I am the exception, in many ways. I'll sound like a jerk here, but with due respect, also remember that "recreational" fliers aside, over 99% of the hard core quad fliers in the world, even many of the "masters and experts", quad flying is still something they just do on the weekend, so even for decades on end it's not the same as a day in and day out driver who actually can DO everything they're claiming to be an expert on. This doesn't de validate their experience or taste, but it's a very real dynamic that is rarely spoken of - proof is in the pudding.

  19. The rise of iQuad... And the last day... Sorry for the off topic, but you brought it up.
  20. Only one guy with the master keys.
  21. Slow down the increments between 4, 5, 6 and 7... Make it so slow that nothing hides, that you get more data from each attempt. Part if what's happening is the kite's tendency to "run" in forward, point it down and that increases - so those points on the clock just require more inverted controls, particularly the transition from side facing or diagonal positions.
  22. It was a spammer, but still good to hear you're sewing @DTill!
