I tell you a "team" of Rev fliers gets it's share of lookers!! People see those lines get all wrapped up and wonder how in the world will they straighten that out? Then when it clears and everyone is "normal", they again scratch their heads!!! Nope, "teams" get plenty of attention, believe me!!

Who is your favorite kite shop at the moment?

Thought I'd bump this to the top!! -
There's a thread here on the forum - Favorite kite store - if you want to call out anyone!!

BUSTED!!! LOL!!
-
Bob - never meant this to be argumentative in any way, just wanted to get that out!! Everybody is entitled to their opinion!! You have found what works for you - that is the whole point!!! Developing that "feel" we've been talking about! You've found it using sticks, I've found it using a race frame - are either of us wrong - NO! It's always been about what works for YOU! Or me, or Joe Schmoe!! Different strokes - eh?
-
Bob - I knew that you had only paid a buck more for the race frame, no big financial investment!! I don't fly with magic sticks, but I don't have negative feelings for those that do! Just thought I'd pose a question that I have! I was going by the language used - stiffening! I want that bend!! Yesterday I had a mid with race and a full vent with 3s out, and personally, the 3s felt like broomsticks after flying the race! I understand the whole connectivity thing, just not the concept of "stiffening"", when the flex is what I use!! Again IMHO!!

A "Where's John Now ? " topic!! Cool!!

Gonna voice an opinion, YMMV! If you are gonna put magic sticks on a race frame, it would seem to me that you have negated the advantage of that frame! The flex is what sets it apart from all the "wrap" rods,!! By trussing it up and taking all the flex out, it seems to have taken that advantage out!! Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought the flex was what set them apart! Confused???

Today is the day I can stop worrying about forecasts.

Patrick Tan (iFlite creator) has an FB page just for iFlite owners, called - iFlite - the Windless wonder! There should be some videos in that page or on YT, just type in iFlite, and you should see a large selection! -
Another reason I like this one is that I can loosen the bunjii on the headband and wear it over a hoodie, if need be! Weather gets nice, I can tighten as needed! Versatile!!

Terry: Glad you could shake loose for some indoor fun yesterday!! Folks, we got a live one here!!! First time indoors and he was looking good and flying better!! Just needs more time at it and I'll just start sitting and watching .............maybe not!! I'm having too much fun myself!!! Glad you could join us!! -
You'd find that same problem on 2 wraps also! A while back I was looking for a way to keep sand out of the caps, made dis assembly a real pain! Found that common "O" rings worked OK for this, pushed right up against the caps! But with one problem - I needed 2 different sizes - 1 size for 3+4 wraps, and 1 size for 2s and RR!! I had taken one of each rod with me and saw how the fit was off if I tried to go with just one size! Got that solved now, Home Depot has an "O" ring that works for all sizes!!

All the condition issues you mention are fixable or part replaceable! Biggest thing is if you can meet up with some other fliers in the area, that will really soften up the learning curve! Yes you can learn alone, many have, but if you can find others that have already experienced the issues you will face and they can ease you past them, you'll be way ahead!! Welcome and enjoy - the ride lasts a lifetime!!

tuning Pigtails (tuning your quad with knotted leaders)
Wayne Dowler replied to Sub706's topic in Quad Heads
There are days where I change leader settings all day!! Sometimes things stay the same, sometimes it's a crap shoot! You adjust as needed, that's why you have all those knots on the leader - to use! Yes, everyone has a favorite knot, but that setting may not work in the current conditions - change to fit the wind for that day, or hour, or ???- 149 replies

tuning Pigtails (tuning your quad with knotted leaders)
Wayne Dowler replied to Sub706's topic in Quad Heads
Flying with fingers over the leaders?? That's an extreme position to me! Personally I don't like the feel of the leader on my fingers! I used to fly with a "trigger" finger, index finger just above the foam, but with some newer handles I use now, I keep all of them on the foam! But I also have a small indent sanded into the foam, equidistant from the top on both to give me a "home base", so I know that I'm holding them the same! With fingers over the leaders, aren't you almost always in "drive"? Reverse would be simple, but getting any more forward drive sounds difficult! I would suggest trying it with the "trigger finger" and see if that will work for you! It adds a bit more "brake" into the equation and you may need to tell the kite to go forward! But that is closer to the "neutral" setup we've been talking about trying to achieve!! Still, the way your flying isn't "wrong", just different! If it works for you, so be it!!- 149 replies

Had the pleasure of using one of Rich's 100% weaves last year, very nice!! As Paul mentioned, it does feel a bit light on the lines, but that was the design's intent, to reduce the pull!! Does it fly well - yes! Is it different than a "B" - yes! Just another flavor to try and find out YOUR combo!! If you have the chance to try one - by all means, do it!! Never know when something "clicks" with you!!!
