You sure about that?? Try A Wind of Change in Vegas, Kent has a good idea of what's available!!

There is a video of the Ninja flying indoors at a mall over in the Far East. The Ninja glided so much better than mine, so I asked if the pilot had made any mods to make it glide that way! Sure enough, he had used some nose weight to get it to glide indoors! I normally use mine outdoors and keep my others for indoor flying! Try a quarter, I think it weighs pretty close to that 10 gram mark!

Did I stumble on the wrong forum topic?? This is the give-away, isn't it? All this back slapping is way out of character here!! Where's the banter, the wily remarks, sarcasm, etc??
-
I like to use mine for really low wind outdoor flying!! I find it's not a "set and forget" flier, but something that needs constant attention! If you use it inside, try a weight about 10 grams in the nose to improve the glide!

I offer this as evidence, your Honor!! See, he said "survivors will be shot again"!!
-
ALWAYS A SPOT OPEN FOR ANOTHER!!! Besides - I survived Baloo trying to shoot me again!! Survivors shot again - mumble, mumble!!!

Fool yourselves all you want, the RNG will send it to ME!!

I don't do a bunch of street flying, but when I do, it's on 30'!! Stay flying my friends!!

Hide the scissors!!!

See, everyone has their own "likes" in a setup! Because my preferred style is team flying, I like the RR! A lot of our routines have many "stop and go" type moves, the RR seem to enhance that with quick loading and short stops! I try to use the wrap rods as little as I can! Now there are other teams that have a much more "flowing" style to their flying, wrap rods work really well for them! So like I said - no right or wrong!!
-
I'm smelling the need for a Zen!! Rod choice is always a personal thing, some don't like the flex of Race, others find the wrap rods too stiff! Everyone finds the combo that suits their style of flying!! Remember - no right or wrong, just what works for you!! Remember too that all the rods interchange! Try different frames in different sails to see what YOU like!!
-
Scott's got this one nailed! Windy outside - put the spreader behind the sail, light wind or indoor - put spreader in front of sail! You can push the dihedral fitting through the hole in the sail for either position! Playing with the sail tension is another thing. Most loosen it up for indoor or light wind, or leave it in stock setting for windy outdoor flying! Very versatile and built like a tank! Enjoy!!

Personally, I'd use the 3 wrap in the full and keep the 4 as an extra! And by full, I take it a full vent? Unless the winds are extreme, you won't need the 4 often. The venting will lessen the pull and load on your kite. You will see a difference even in those sails, on how the RR react over the 3 wrap! Enjoy!!
-
If you can make it - GO! You won't be sorry, and it's something you can't get enough of - after you learn to BREATHE and RELAX! Just think WWE kite flying - or Nascar - if you ain't rubbing, you ain't racing!! Team flying can be "full contact"!!
-
It's all good, relax, have fun!! If you have new lines - no problem with just a wrap, but if you have old - watch out!! Don't pull against the flow - go with it ! If you get a tangle (don't worry we ALL HAVE) get the people involved to get their bodies close, find the twist, and walk it down to the handles! It's a lot easier to move handles than try to sort out kites! Breathe is a good thing - helps the enjoyment!

Only believe the "Hippy Dippy Weatherman"! Today's weather - it's outside!!!

You were posting while I was typing!! Too much is relied on using posted wind ranges! While those are possible, you aren't going to find many of us going by those stated ranges! Partly personal, partly because we look for more performance at certain ranges! I had a stroke, means I'm looking to be the first guy to swap to something more vented than most! Use your own gut feeling and eyes!! You've probably flown enough to know what you're looking at, and feel if it's right or not!! Besides - "Use the Force" - Rob!!
-
Rob - all the regular wrap rods have the same "style" of flex, I find it a bit stiff, but it is consistent through the wrap rods!! The race rods are a bit different in their flex and their ability to "snap" back to a neutral position faster! Some don't like it, some love it! It really depends on how your flying style evolves, on whether you'll like RR, or think they're worthless! If you follow the JB style of sail loading, then the RR will have the most value, if you just cruise around, then you won't see or feel much difference! So it really comes down to how you plan to fly and what performance you expect! No matter on what you settle on, remember to swap frames if it is windier, or sails, as needed! Watch the LE to tell you when! Since all the frames are interchangeable, experiment with different frames in different sails and find a combo that suits you!! One of the great things about Revs - there is no right or wrong, just what works for you!! My setup as of now: Std - RR Mid - RR Vtd -3 Xtra - 3 Spares - 4 If I had another set of RR, they'd be in my Vtd too! Snagless handles are nice, but not necessary to enjoy Revs! I used the mod for making my own and it lasted many years! I just recently got some snagless due to some personal experimentation with handles! Again - no right or wrong, just trying something else out! Your mileage may vary!!

(Not too sure about that, but it might work) Glad to see you here again - crawled out of the cave?

What!!!! It'd just get damp and moldy in that area of the country. It needs to be out here on the plains where the wind has been more than gentle this spring. Cheers, Tom If flown regularly, kites will gather no mold!! And we do shower with the kite to keep them clean!! Just saying!!!

Could stay in Oregon!!

ON the top floor of the garage ("open air")... youtu.be/bMywuOsFk4I?t=3m43s Lines, 30' x 50# LPG. Wind, variable 0-4 mph, 7 stories up, shifting wind directions (45-180 degrees at a time). == IN the garage was closer to indoor, 0-2 mph with little gusts in variable directions. youtu.be/bMywuOsFk4I?t=4m36s Thanks JB. Hope your Bday was the best. Just curious...For light wind, how much difference is there between an SLE with race rods and a B with race rods? On 50' lines how big a difference going from 90# to 50# lines. I gotta get a spool of 50# LPG. You'll see a bigger difference if you make longer line sets! Some won't use it, but 120's in 50# are the bomb in light winds! Along with a set of 15" handles (again IMHO)!!

There's a term for those wanderers - Obliviots!!
