  1. One of the big differences is the LE. Look close under load and you'll see that the "B" has much more of a curve! The SLE has a straighter edge! The curve creates a "ball" of wind load that the sail works around! The SLE with straighter edge lets wind spill off easier! Any of the mids - "B", Pro, Polo, are great choices!
  2. I'm not too sure about how to compare it with other sails! I didn't find any moves difficult to do, it just was a different feeling from my "B"s! Haven't flown it enough to form a better opinion!!
  3. Rob - never flew a Polo and only have flown a Shook once! The Shook felt very light on the lines, almost like a Rev2! But it was fast, quicker that a stock Rev, especially in a straight line! This was a 100%(full vent) model!!
  4. Rob - which bridle? Vented I hope! They don't last forever, I always have at least 1 for a spare!
  5. Welcome Dayhiker, Nick told me to be on the lookout for you!! See you have his Zero-G, hope you like it better than he did! Different style of flying! Enjoy the ride!!
  6. The Horvath Hybrids glide forever! Really smooth! Had the pleasure of trying one, loved it!!
  7. Looks like the only thing missing in the bag is an Indoor Rev! That aside, all the kites you have, will fly indoors as well!!
  8. Try an indoor soccer center - HUGE!!! Right now only 2-3 of us, sometimes only 1!! Plenty of room for gliders, Revs, and dualies, all at once! JB and Watty know the place - HUGE!! But now our outdoor season is gearing up, so we get all the outdoor time in that we can!! But if it rains or the wind doesn't blow ......... inside, here I come!!
  9. SHHHH! The RNG might hear!!
  10. Nick - ya can't rush perfection!! Patience grasshopper!!!
  11. Let the drooling begin? Did it ever stop??
  12. Revs, Revs, and more Revs!! YEEHAW!!!
  13. What's funny about all this - is that I don't do much outdoor gliding!! I fly my Urban Ninja on low wind days, not really tried my gliders much! So most of my posts really relate more to the indoor, over outdoor! That said, many "mods" apply to both situations! So like I said - if it works for you - go for it!
  14. Definitely different! The 1.5 is the standard for everyone flying team, almost!! Lots of control in that platform!! The Rev2/B2 size is so much lighter and quicker! 2 completely different animals to fly! Give me a steady 5 mph and I'm very happy!
  15. My setup is: 1.5SUL - 2 wrap "B" std - 2 wrap "B" mid - race "B" vtd - 3 wrap "Bpro" xtravtd - 3 wrap I keep my 4 wrap as a backup for really big winds!! Team flying, I try to match up with everyone else for similar performance!
  16. All the rods are interchangeable!! Use what fits your wind conditions at the time!! The "Bend" rule works, watch your LE, if it bends too much for your liking, switch to something stronger! Many use the race frame as a replacement for a 2 wrap frame - same weight, more strength, different flex!!
  17. Rob - use the light rod for the P-3, it'll be a lot nicer!! I'd use a stiffer rod on the XL, too light a wand and the weight will make it feel overpowered! IMHO, of course!
  18. Some don't like the spine tension loose for outdoors, but if you find that it works - go for it!
  19. Watty is right on his input - lines are part of the way your kite works, in the way you're looking for! I use the line that came with my Wala, for my Plutz, Mega-Plutz and Frigate (Skate style glider)! Then I use an LPG made fly fishing leader material for all my small gliders -iFlite and iFliteII!! I also use a small swivel to take out line twists and it adds just a bit of weight! I'm not big on using LPG, myself! I feel that it will "bite" into your skin if it moves too fast through your fingers! I've eliminated that by using a wand with all my indoor gliders! The heavier line changes the glide for many gliders, it can be used instead of added weight in the nose! Outdoors, I found that fly line backing does the trick! Comes in several weights and colors! Got 2 weights 20# + 30# in different colors to keep them straight! Still helps to wear gloves with it though, too much movement causes line burn!! Might try some fighter kite line sometime to see if I like that!! It's all in what you are looking for and how you are going to use it!!
  20. Don't have a pic - but my old Rev 1 is still my old favorite!! First real Rev (Backtrackers don't count), still in the bag, used it yesterday!!
  21. Maybe ! Being new also, but having Wala and xl. The line tension and use,and movements, is tricky..from my flights so far....sometimes even the friction of the line going across the finger can be too much. One of the many reasons to use a wand! If you find that the line plays out too fast for you and burns the pinkies, a wand does all of that, plus gives you a mechanical advantage of several feet of extra arm length!!
  22. Relax and let the kite do most of the work! It'll come - give it a chance!!
  23. My luck, it would land on top of a building, or up in a tree L O L !!
