Don't fall down from being dizzy Alan.. go one pivot the other way and it sets you right. Check it out! You don't even need kites, just spin a few times and then go once the other way.. ok... now quit that... it's just wierd. Tell everyone hello. Allen, there was a lady with shoulder length blond hair, who goes 40 miles to church on Sun. She needs to know she could fly a rev outside, standing or sitting. Health issues kept her from moving backwards inside. She wants to fly, but couldn't . You can turn her on to the rev outside, I hope. BB Penny BB Penny

Great picture! Good Morning John! Yeah, Monkey, I need to borrow that kite for my Keystone cop routine. You know what, we need more of several people flying at the same on the floor. But not like they like you to do and get everyone out on the floor at the same time. lol Not always fun. Oh, John, I forgot to tell you Steve says you've really improved this last year. Practice tells... doesn't it. He doesn't usually say much, so that was quite a compliment. Man, if you don't crash you win.. and you went for the gusto. We really enjoyed watching it. It's so difficult to capture the fluidity of a kite on film, but the cameraman that took those pictures caught the intensity in your face, as well as the kids excitement. Didn't we all have fun? I have a phone # for him I can try. I took a picture of my handles this AM, but they are not like his. He bends his out and turns the tips in so the line doesn't get tangled on the handle. I'm scared to bend mine so, find out I don't like it andhave to try to bend them back. I can try to post it this PM if John doesn't before then. (POSTED) BB Penny

Yes, you do! 3 at once inside! I've seen two stacks flown inside, but not three till last weekend! Way to go Alan! Now I get to tell them about my new move. It's called the a"Gyro". I fly my Indoor Rev in a 360 clockwise circle either close to the ground or higher, while my body spins in a counterclockwise circle. My mom came to the gym at 6:00 AM to watch me fly Friday and offer some advice (the day before the competition mind you) Her advice was to holler when I did that move, or another move, where the flyer is part of the action. Now most of the guys do this naturally, but it's not natural for me to holler for myself, so it's taking a little practice. Monkey says this move can only be done with my single handle. Anyone out there going to practice enough to get this move down and prove him wrong? The single handle that I have does not have a swivel in it that will turn the kite, so I compensate by tugging string. The basics are easy, the rest is more challenging and takes practice to make it look good. Not only the kite, but to make it look like I know what I'm doing instead of stumbling around with the lines. Yup, I want to make it look magical. Making the difficult look easy. Someone who gets a swivel into those handles will enjoy that and it would be the only feasible way to fly two rev's at once inside IMHO. I can see it in my future, but not today. There's just to much to work on~ I'll look and see if I have Roger's email still to get the picture of his handles. BB Penny

We're glad you like the card Allen. Hey, I can't get past Kyle's picture. Do we have to pay $10.00 to see these? BB Penny

I think it would be so awesome if Joe Hedziki (sp) were to create some single handles that would work even better. It opens up a whole new dimension of flying. Roger Maddy that flies 3 quads at once sent the info for these and Gary McEchran made them. Obviously they work outside... ie.. Roger Maddy, however, mine are made of a light metal and bend to easy to be much use to me outside. Roger said they wouldn't work inside, but they do! We can hunt Roger down and he'll send you the info. let us know if your interested. BB Penny

I think we're all in agreement that we had a great time and learned something new. Kites can create quite a learning curve over the years. This sport never boors me. BB Penny all tangled up in UFO lines and smiling

Yeah! I took 2nd in the "Up the River Kite Festival" this weekend. I competed with the single handle for the indoor Rev. It was the only kite I used in the competition. Sweet! Bud Hays took 1st place. Congratulations to him! and Wayne Turner took 3rd place. I tell you, it could have gone either way for any of us there. I thought Allen C. did a great job with his flying two single lines at once, but I guess he crashed, tangled at one time. I tend to remember the good and skirt over the bad, so I forgot that part. I know he impressed us and we enjoyed it. Allan had better look out, I just discovered how much fun two UFO's are at once! Talk about feeling dazed and confused!

We had such a good time, and delicious sushi! Poor Wayne, it was the best kept secret in the place and he didn't get any. We thought everyone knew as we stood around filling our mouths. ehmmm! Monkey, I can't believe you didn't get here first to share those bragging rights! Goodness, next year I'm going to shake my butt, slap it a few times and call it good. lol That butt slapping really did something for the judges, didn't it? lol (Monkey won hot tricks) He sizzled! It was great to get back there and get to know some of the people a little better. Alan, one thing I didn't get to do was tell Stephanie what I thought of her flying. Please express to her for me, that I think she has an excellent touch with a kite and she should go for it! I think she impressed me more then anyone there. She's young, so she'll probably find other interest, but I think she has mass potential. Budzilla took 1st place in the competition and I placed second with my single handle on the indoor Rev. I was tickled pink that I even placed this year, as that handle is so challenging. The event was well ran with good food and good company. It's the kind of event we look forward to returning to. Kudo's to Allen and the crew. Hope we can all do it again next year. BB Penny

oooohhh Alan, I'm telling Steve. I have a dress, I should not be mistaken for a male. BB Penny

I got a call from Tracy last night. BASKL (Bay Area Stunt Kite League), UPN & a CBS station, along with SouthWestern Airlines are sponsoring a new festival! Woo hoo, tell any one you know in sunny California. The date for this one day festival is May 6th, with "regular fun flying" available on the 5th and 7th. Fliers arring Friday night. It should be an excellent adventure! BB Penny

I'm excited too! 4 more days! Yes, I think Lolly was working hard. Hey Theresa, have you seen the UFO stacked yet? BB Penny

I received a 1.5, an Indoor, and a R/W/B SLE Friday. Woo Hoo, and a UFO and quad handles for it! Now I'm scared to try it. It might have to wait till next week, after practice for this coming weekend is over. Woo hoo! Look out. Now, how is Lee stacking those things? BB Penny
