  1. What about letting the judges know your routine? You guys are against that? You have no fear that a person is attempting one trick and another one is accidently performed? Do the judges have a list of tricks and how they stack up in degree of difficulty? Do you look at each trick as being just as difficult as the next and all it takes is practice time to accomplish it? In the past it was easier to judge duals. Now I would never judge dual at this point due to tricks. Off topic-did I hear the N.W. Sports league is folding? BB Penny
  2. if you are uncertain ask them to put in writing what you will be getting for your money. Prices can vary over $100. BB Penny
  3. I like the shirt "Who gives a #%^ what time it is." No offense, but I do. Kite time is so open and I have no sense of time. BB Penny trying to find time to eat and catch up on her kitelife forum. AWESOME weekend at Brookings OR this weekend. BB Penny
  4. Hello Jason, I wasn't referring to you, just the remark that was made. You know I don't think we've actually shared the same air yet. When are you coming to Long Beach WSIKF? BB Penny
  5. Good for Premier! BB Penny
  6. It's not even the fact that you can't tell what direction your going in, but the viewers won't know as easily when you do reverse. Judges have to be aware of it too. What color deca did you get? You can always paint something on it. BB Penny
  7. If it was a dual line it might be Dick Barns. He has sewed a few prism rainbow looking kites too.
  8. oops sorry.. I was ready another thread with you in it.. You must have been in my head still. I meant CLT.. John, great explanation.... that's why you da man. Happy 4th of July~ BB Penny
  9. I spoke with Ben at Lincoln City. He's trying to get the custom made R/W/B Rev's at the Smithsonian for an event. Won't that be kewl. He also shared how he is making his Rev's durable for people like me who are tough on a kite. I appreciate it. BB Penny
  10. Now that's a who's who in kiting list. You won't go wrong if you hook up w/anyone on that list. BB Penny
  11. No, it really shouldn't break that easily. I've heard of bad line coming off of the assembly once in a great while. It's happened to all the line companys. BB Penny
  12. Dorsal, why the concern? We're not perfect in here. Now is it safe to say the bridle is to help disperse the pull on the kite. I fly without a bridle on the majority of my kites. It's harder on the kite and the stress points show it. Happy 4th of July! BB Penny
  13. I'll be parked around the corner at some friends house. I haven't been to this festival in 3 years. It was the first kite festival I ever went to. a weekend of fun in the (?) sun. See you there. BB Penny
  14. I don't know about the NK Spirit, but the Rev's usually come with a video. A forum is probably your best place for advice. Good luck. BB Penny
  15. Then end caps that fit inside on your SLE will fit over the ends of the smaller rods and feel loose. It will not affect the flying. BB Penny
  16. Which Ben? Have fun at Long Beach. I think it's going to be a beautiufl weekend where ever we are. BB Penny
  17. Latitude 45 AKA Lincoln City, OR is hosting their "Myriad of Kites" Kite Festival this weekend. We'll be at the D river. Hope to see you there! BB Penny
  18. Yes, The Kite Shoppe will help you find what your looking for and do a great job explaining our kite jargon. BB Penny
  19. 2 wrap, very light great for no wind. Fragile 3 wrap, good for no wind in experienced hands, light wind and a little sturdier for new fliers. 4 wrap, great for light wind to 15 mph. Then you might want to put your SLE in or changed to a vented kite. Everybody~ should sell them online. Pick your favorite store. BB Penny
  20. Hehehe.. A Revolution 1.5 SLE and get a 3 wrap " leading edge", which is the longest edge that when leading first is forward. The are the best. All the quads have their own characteristics. Some are wonderful quads like the Spirt, and some are not. (I won't mention names) But the Revoltuion is the most versitile. Enjoy! You'll never look back. BB Penny
  21. Sedgwick and Taft Rev I's are the hot blues and Red/Orange colored Rev I.'s You could call them both Sedgwick kites, as the 2 eventually got married and lived happily ever after for some years. Saddly, Susan Taft-Sedgwick passed away from Cancer last year. Lee Sedgwick is a great innovator who brought us dog staking and made no wind kiteflying look easy over 10 years ago. Does Rev still sale them? I'm not sure. My favorite mix is the Quad Squad colors of P9innk, purple, teal and florescent yellow. BB Penny
  22. Maybe I can attach what I have so you don't have to join the newspaper. I'll try. BB Penny Kitesurfing.htm
  23. Hopefully this will get you to the newspaper article. Karen & Leigh's nephews are enjoying kite surfing and winning money prices. We should be so lucky. http://www.caller.com/ccct/local_sports/ar...4733870,00.html BB Penny
