  1. I don't have a Zen yet, but most people say that it's a long line beast. Go the 120's.
  2. It's not the actual connection that is hard, it's the getting the occasional twist out once you've set up. I forgot to mention I was flying under street lights or just general building illumination.
  3. Put some pigtails on the mounting points (7) that way you can stack them easily. AND. You can attach you flying lines to the verts for "no bridle" flying. If you fly without the bridle your kite will load more as the bridle spreads it out on the LE.
  4. I'm about to go forth into the darkness for a little night time flying and I was steeling myself for the initial set up squints. As funny as it seems I have a hard time seeing my LPG lines during that initial setting up period. I was considering getting some 30' yellow Shanti lines to make it easier. What lines do you use? Do you find that type, or colour, makes a difference? Thanks
  5. Intent. Purpose. Do you just fly around or are you making the effort to "do that move"? A lot of it comes down to intent and purpose. Think of each move like a deck of cards. JB is "playing his hand". All seamlessly woven sequences. Practice the moves. Practice going out of one into another. It's the transitions that give the fluidity to a sequence. Practice. Practice. Practice. But always leave time for carving! I love doing moves, my transitions are getting better but I really love tearing up the sky!! Failing that, kidnap JB....... desert island....... lessons...... pro kites.....
  6. And no shoes. Better to feel Mother Earth with your feet.
  7. With a 30' line set you don't need wind, just perspiration...
  8. .... except for a Pro....
  9. My reply went a little long for a reply so I've sent it as a PM. The research and picking is half the fun though.
  10. Adjustable handles, think this refers to the leaders with the knots along it. Standard Rev handles just have a short leader with one knot. The weights go in the bottom of the (most common) down spars or (less common) in the outer edges of the LE. There are rarely used these days. I'm keen to try them personally.
  11. Congrats to all.
  12. Wow!!! How does it fly?
  13. Could still be on a 2 Wrap B2 Std in those winds.... You'd have a hell of a smile too!!
  14. Tell you what JB, I'll go into my prize cupboard and draw something out for you... Bare in mind I have 3 kids under 9 so it will probably be a colouring book, some pencils or a little toy car!
  15. "See a need, fill a need." Ok, it's a movie quote. An animated kids movie at that.
  16. Not sure, but some weather apps allow you to set direction to either way: origin or travelling to.
  17. ....or is that 86? Anybody??
  18. Take your time John, send your kites to me and I'll look after them for you.... Big congrats.
  19. Even in chaos there is order... Too deep?? 977
  20. Some will definitely say YES, it makes a difference. Some would never know. Let's see now, we've got 11", 13", 15", & 17" handles, so what difference does it make, if we hit somewhere in between one of those ............ ? Don't forget the 9" handles on the original Rev 1's. I know of a great flyer that had a set of 14"s made up. It might be a case of what you get used to.
  21. Was Mr T gangsta? Thought he was more ghetto... 977 I pity da fool...
  22. If you use a "Bugle head" screw, as in like a trumpet horn, there is a nice, smooth and tapered shaft to tie onto.
  23. I break the kite down, roll up and put back in its bag. I rarely take my handles off my 30' lines though.
  24. I got a matching UL to the Std I already had. Pleased as punch with it. Big thanks to Kevin Sanders for the excellent build.
