  1. Okay, okay, time for me to give away my birthday present! #597, expired... #204, expired... #377, expired... #23, expired... #1011, expired... #985, oh wait, maybe... Yep, we've got a winner! This baby is going home with #985, Ron Ortega (aka Stardragon)! Congratulations Ron, enjoy it sir!
  2. Alright, who is owning their hover this morning?
  3. Ohhhhh yeah, best sushi in Portland... Dieski Kashiwagi-san, oyshi katta, arigato!

  4. Sail, spars and handles, all no problem for TSA, etc... Nothing truly pointed in there. Spoken from significant experience with kites on planes. Just be sure to leave your ground stake (pointed) in the checked luggage.
  5. The one concern I'd have is prolonged exposure (i.e. storage on a wall, in a car, etc) to sunlight... Especially with older fabrics and fittings, direct sun can eventually bleach or weaken the material(s). Silly to worry about it while you're out on the kite field, but for day in and day out storage, keeping your kites in the shade would be a good idea.
  6. Good guess Sean - aim for #1093.
  7. Ommmmm, you've got it - juggle the lemons, but focus on the quality of the lemonade.
  8. Heya Sean - glad to see you on the forum. "Staying in a turtle" is actually an increasingly common trait in new high performance kites (like the Ocius), due to turtle-based tricks being more popular. I also found it a little quirky to simply go in / out of a turtle on the Ocius (and more than a few other kites), a Susan or Jacobs Ladder segment is usually the best way out in my experience. It's likely our other members here will have more feedback for you as well, I know there are a few Ocius fans on KiteLife.
  9. Heya Joe, nothing has changed here - there is no rotate function for direct uploads to forum posts. Straight upload: Could be something with your OS and the camera's output?
  10. Hi Randy, you are subscriber #1091 - good luck sir!
  11. Hi rexracer, thanks so much for your patience - indeed, I've just been behind the ball with travel, etc, you have my sincere apologies. I've just manually activated your subscription (#1091), all should be well. The was a quirk with our subscription system that didn't log the transaction here in our forum, but your subscription status is tied to our offline master list which is kept up to date based on payments received... Just give me a holler if you it gives you any problems in the future, it's my pleasure to help. Trying to catch up on everything else now, hoping to enjoy a birthday off with the Mrs. Good luck everyone!
  12. That was actually a morning in Redcliffe this month, this one is good too (Mikio Toki and my iQuad teammate Willow Robin): Simply, WOW. Damn, I am whipped though - been a long run between Australia and Wildwood... Trying to catch up on email, forum and Facebook today, also need a nap as I'm fighting a bit of a cough at the moment. Thanks for thinking of me, love heals!
  13. I appreciate all the birthday wishes - but we still have 4 days to go, on the 1st. ;)

    HELP!

The problems you describe could be anything, hard to diagnose out of sight... At first read, I'm wondering: 1 - If it's hard to launch, maybe shorten your top lines slightly to increase forward drive. 2 - if it's spinning uncontrollably, make sure all 4 lines are equal length, and that your inputs are equal R-L.
  15. Ya, if they're "slide on" nocks, a strip of tape should be enough to hold it during normal use.
  16. Hi ho, hi ho... Terry, Vern, Terry, Dominic and Jessica, see y'all very soon! :)

  17. Leaving at 1:30pm, landing in DC at 1am, should hit Wildwood around 6am or so (allowing for stops)... See you soon, looking forward to a long weekend of play and competition! :)

  18. Hi John, thanks for your patience... Put your chips on #1077.
  19. Thanks for your understanding, all... Just landed home yesterday, off to Wildwood today. The next drawings should be on the right days, lol!
  20. Some references... http://www.revkites.net/forum/topic/5192-airline-travel-with-rev/ http://www.revkites.net/forum/topic/1445-airplane-safe-travel-cases/ http://www.revkites.net/kite-product/travel-rev-tote
  21. You rock Day, beautiful sentiments! It's surely changed my (kite)life.
  22. TK and I get into our local community center (their basketball gym) for $25 per hour during the week. Some folks have also had luck with such venues, churches or schools by offering to do kite presentations for students / visitors. Key is, if they're resistant - come prepared with video examples (especially the ones below), and be ready to offer some sort of mutual benefit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0ua3EZs06s
  23. Welcome to KiteLife, you're in good hands with these kind folks.
  24. Ya, at this point, almost everything is automatic for me... There is a slight consciousness about the *detail* or *timing* of maneuvers, but not the mechanics.
  25. 17 hour jet lag has me awake... Gotta get some rest for my flight to DC with Spence tomorrow (driving on to Wildwood from there), time for an audio book - usually does the job. :)
