if your daughter is a tomboy for sure will enjoy 170 and some pull and adrenaline rush. best move to learn is release a line when you feel is to much power
-
it seams they are of from bottom caps. is similar with power series, upper side connected and independent bridle for each side on bottom. is worth to try

tuning Pigtails (tuning your quad with knotted leaders)
Edmond Dragut replied to Sub706's topic in Quad Heads
this is because to much break applied and your case from a to sudden and longer movement of hands then necessary. is normal at the beginning. try to do not become scared by the fact the kite start to fall and keep the hands move smooth. is like driving a car, make small adjustments on front of a single big one- 149 replies

try a knot out on upper lines.that will take out the possibility to over control the break from a to large hand movement- 149 replies

check your lines to be equal. If they are use the forward knot from handles on bottom and also on top. try to launch. if is not happening move a knot in on top lines and try again till the kite is launching. that is the best setup- 149 replies

if you do not use JB leaders or something like them your break will be slack because of normal position of hands and handles. longer leaders on top lines correct this. if you do not want to order new once you may build your ones. top around 9-10 inches with 6-7 knots at 1/2 inches distance ,bottom 4-5 inches long with 3-4 knots at 1/4 distance. you will see a big improvement- 149 replies

New to quads is this kite a place to start?
Edmond Dragut replied to freepistol's topic in Quad Heads
mi honest opinion...i do not like this reflex technologies but yes ,is a good start with a small problem. what is happening IF you like quad kites? EXP is an entry level kite and almost for sure you will need another kite more advanced so...i will say go for a 1.5 any color choice you like from here http://www.kiteconnection.com/cgi-bin/store.cgi difference in price is small and 1.5 is a more advanced sail. also keep in mind the media of wind speed on your area. if media is higher then 7 (and seams to be) i will go with a mid vent. That will cut the struggle you will have with pull, frustration of not controlling the kite and not the last breaking spars on hard crashes. Another thing i will suggest you. Before to buy is to try to met a Revolution flyer from your area. under supervise and with the best tips that person will let you try one of the kites and you will feel where you stand and how much you like. on that moment will not be just "suggestions" to buy will be an educated choice and for sure more smart spend of money. sounds good ? -
is coming !!! you will loose
-
😄 Good start ! Hypnotist is a great kite to on the large side and double price then you ask for. You keep the bet ?😉
-
for sure JB they do not realize what they do years ago with "the family" may be done today by other player with more wisdom and more practical game.
-
JB you are right, forward and onward but is a shame when you see a company with so much love in the past become...."something" i think nobody is speaking about a real copyright and more about the low morality to use something so close in design and put it on your name.

dual are tones of brands. You know Prism but you have HQ, Premier, L'Atelier, Level One, Sky Burner, Sky Dog and many many more. Check on kite stores for other brands. here some of the most known stores http://www.thekiteshoppe.com/ https://store.kittyhawk.com/collections/dual-line-kites http://intothewind.com/ http://www.skydogkites.com/index.shtml

yes is normal for both. leading edges rods with caps in create a bow shape and tension the frame. wearing lines on back of the sail where the spars are is show normal use. Check JB for sail upgrade to reinforce the sail and avoid that wearing

i feel your pain, for sure some kid step on it bare foot. i had something like this last year but they brake the leading edge to. 2 choices to repair with ripsop tape. Fast - tape on both sides. Best - tape on both sides and sewn the tape edges if you will use 2 inch tape you will catch both tears with a single strip by side. put edge of the tape on top of the mesh sewn. will help when you will sewn the edges. good luck

foils are great for start to gain the basic control and are virtually indestructible and pocket pack and expect some hard pull at 2.5 M. do not go IMO bigger then 3 M. you have here couple brands to pick and TeamVee suggested already Symphony framed kites are having the property you already know,to break.for beginning is happening so be prepared with spare parts. Wingspan preferably to start medium at least, 71-84 inches. smaller are lighting fast bigger are have some pull. a great solid all around kite for start is Prism Quantum if you do not mind a bit of pull in 15 + mph and on top of that is a screamer who will make people to look after. is more then 80$ but is worth any penny. lines all the time just birded an you have couple brands without major differences in between. length - from 60 to 120 your preference. longer lines more time to react also slower kite reaction Last but not list a STAKE. important tool to anchor your kite when you explain to auditorium the last show you staged. remember - foil kites are all the time parked up side down. if you pick foil or framed is your choice. i bet now after the first kite second one will come in weeks. foils are do left right up down spins and to this add tricks on framed. Have fun

hole in the sail is an option but not all the time a good one depending by the kites design and bridle. pull force of the kite is not bigger then spar resistance because the spare keep the shape without to break so...connecting the line to the spar actually will be 2 opposite forces canceling each other ore close to ,the pull force of the bottom kite and other pull force of the top one. Spare being stronger then any of this two forces will hold like a single kite is connected to them.ONE CONDITION- all kites must to be identical in surface. if they are not use the smallest on top of the line and the biggest to the bottom
