  1. With two rollup bags, you're right it might be a little tough to get clothes in there too - but at least at this point, that's not an issue for me personally. I was going for a bag with as little extra bulk as possible. As long as I'm locked down, I'll take some time to actually "pack" for a week-long trip and see how that turns out. What the heck, it's something somewhat kite-related to do. Where should I go on this imaginary trip? I'll also include a "simulated" extra rollup of kites... or you can ship me one of yours to test with 😉. Fence hooks... ah yeah... I didn't even notice them in the online description, but yesterday was like "I wonder what this zipper is for?" zzzzzipp... FENCE HOOKS!!!
  2. It does say black/lime at one point, though.
  3. I think I've found a solution I like: https://amzn.to/2JVSjIN It's a baseball/softball bag, 41 inches long. Looks pretty sturdy, and just long enough to fit my rollup bag. I pack pretty light, so I think I can get a week's worth of clothes in there too. I did have to cut out an internal divider to access the full length. I don't think it'll stand up on its own, it leans a bit and when loaded, it'll probably tip over. Overall, I think I'm happy with it. Seems strong and well-made, nice tough skid plate at the bottom and enough of a spine that it won't flop over when not completely full. All I'm missing now is somewhere to take it. 😢
  4. I was just about to suggest that kites4all site. [emoji106]
  5. Have you checked out http://www.kitebuilder.com/? Lots of information there, although sometimes it takes a lot of digging in forum threads to find it.
  6. My lacrosse bag arrived last night. Good news first - my OSKUSA quad rollup bag fits perfectly in terms of length (it's 40" long). Bad news - I could probably fit six of them. The bag is massive. I looked at the dimensions online, but seeing it in person, it's just enormous. I could bring my kites and my kids on a trip, all in the bag! Ok, that's an exaggeration, but a few years ago, totally would have worked. I may try @riffclown's suggestion of the drum hardware bags next. (Side note - it's too bad it's so oversized, because it's made of almost the exact same material as the rollup bag. They look like matched luggage)

    Covid 19

Kiting is just about the only thing that still feels normal at this point. I'm usually out on a polo ground, so there's no one around for at least a hundred yards in any direction. Social long-distancing!
  8. So sorry to have to miss this. Have a great time everyone! I'll be there next time for sure.
  9. This one's a wakeskate rather than a wakeboard bag, so it might be shorter because of that. All the wakeboard bags seem to be 50" or so. But yeah, I couldn't find measurements either, so I went with a 42" lacrosse bag. I'll report back on how that works out.
  10. I'm guessing it's this: http://www.boardstop.com/product_info.php?products_id=3639 Most online stores are out of stock. I'm going to give a wheeled lacrosse bag a try.
  11. I'm in the market for a wheeled "outer" bag to contain my kite rollup bag and most if not all of my non-kite stuff. I'm planning on checking this bag for flights. KiteLife forum to the rescue! I found this conversation, but it looks like many of the old Amazon links are now expired. @John Barresi any chance you can find a "modern" link for your wakeboard bag or something similar?
  12. 2 for 1 sounds right in my experience. I enjoy making my own sets. A lot of weekends here in AZ, the wind won't cooperate, so I take my gear over to my office building (love that AC!) where there's a nice long tiled hallway to work in. Getting past the stretch is the least fun part.
  13. Exactly. I see the forecast, and I can get out and fly and feel the wind and watch the trees move, but I don't have a number for actual wind speed at the field. I don't necessarily need that number - until I want to communicate with other fliers about it. Then I need a standard. Imagine never having seen a ruler and trying to talk about how long something is. You need some way to learn the scale, be it a ruler or a friend who already knows it. Once you develop you own sense, you won't need the ruler anymore. But you have to start somewhere.
  14. I have a followup question that's sort of about the bridle. As I was reassembling my Djinn after cleaning from the Emerald Coast Quad Clinic (which was truly amazing, can't say enough about it) one of the T-connectors slipped out of the bridle at the leading edge. How important is the position of the lark's head on that connector to the symmetry of the bridle? Do I need to make sure the knot is in the same place on both sides? If so, where? Toward the inside, outside, or right in the middle? As high up on the T as possible? Here's the spot I mean:
  15. Done. Turns out the web site was being updated this week to correct the description. They don't have any 1.5Bs - it was too good to be true.
  16. Looks like the new link is http://www.awindofchange.com/product/Rev-B-Classic-NIGHT.html. Note the change to "CLASSIC". The pictures are still of a 1.5B, but they've added some new text as of today describing the Reflex system...
  17. I ordered from this link... anyone else? The kite just arrived, but it's actually a Reflex 1.5 Classic, not a 1.5B. The link now says it's not available at this time, but I could have sworn when I ordered that it pictured (and described) an actual 1.5B. A race frame upgrade was offered for $1, which I opted for. My order confirmation clearly says "Rev-B-Series-NIGHT". I'm thinking I'm going to return it. Did anyone else order and actually get a 1.5B? Was it too good to be true?
  18. I'll check when I get home, but I seem to remember the EXP belly being different from the 1.5B as well. A longer measurement, if I recall.
  19. I always thought the B series were all Icarex. Have I been fooling myself?
  20. Quick question from a beach-flying newbie - I only have golf ball stakes made from "standard" tent stakes, probably about 10-12 inches long. Is that sufficient for this clinic? If not, what would you recommend?
  21. How well does Icarex or ripstop nylon handle having a seam ripped and re-sewn? Seems like it wouldn't work too well, like you'd just have created a nice perforation for it to tear along.
