  1. Considering only 30 hours of flying?? AWESOME!! Let me ask a question - how long were those lines? Camera can distort some and I wanted to confirm a thought!
  2. And they definitely will benefit!!!!
  3. Nothing wrong about wanting a mid, that was my first "B" too! But a word of warning - don't be tempted to put too strong a frame in it to combat high winds! You can stretch the sail beyond some simple bungee tightening and it ain't coming back!! That's why the f/v is recommended as a second, you can handle the top end of the wind speed charts!! I've not tried my Indoor, outside yet! Got an SUL for that little wind, but the Zen is on my "next" list !!
  4. For outdoors - a std and a f/v offer the best combo of versatility! You can add the mid later on! The indoor is a specialty item for indoor use, got a place to use it? I'm very lucky to have found a place that lets me fly a couple times a week! Just ask - finding a place to fly is one of the hardest things about indoor!!
  5. Matt - we were glad to have you there!!
  6. Now that's a thought!! Personal collection! No worries about lost kites in the mail! Brilliant!!
  7. Most likely get lost in the mail!!! Nope, better to keep it local!!
  8. Last Friday and Saturday, I got in some outdoor flying!! Temps close to 50* (heat wave) and no rain, nice wind Friday, but really low Saturday!! But it was a nice break from indoors during the winter!! Going indoors today, gotta practice up for an indoor event in just a few weeks!! Loving the year-round flying fun!!
  9. Alright - what happened to all the "banter" on this?? 2 days now and all quiet on the kite front!! About time to unleash some "influencing"!! Now that feels and looks a bit better!!
  10. I gotta admit to being a bit conservative with my banter on this one, as I'm very much Rev-centric!! But my son does need a decent middle wind dualie, so I'm keeping my dog in the hunt!!
  11. Just keeping the demons at bay til outdoors comes around!! I found indoor a couple of years ago and haven't looked back!! Now if the weather is crappy, I just go indoors to fly!!
  12. mystaynedskin - send some of that - this way!! I'm missing some outdoor flying right about now!! More indoor time it looks like for me!!
  13. You guys have practically done a PSA for indoor flying, with all the weather issues, etc.!!! Gotta go do some this afternoon, in fact!!! Sent from someone that would go completely crazy over the winter, if he didn't have indoor to save him!!
  14. I can see total mayhem stemming from too many Barresi clones floating around!!! As for the teleporter - wouldn't it be nice to go anywhere and then return to your own bed at night!!
  15. There have been plenty of times that us West Coast brethren have wished the same thing!!! Plea for inventors - work on a transporter,,,,,,,,please!!
  16. OK, thought I needed to get this out before I forgot things!! (keep the "old" jokes quiet!!) Anyway, I just wanted to comment on how much fun was had by all of my friends, this weekend!! Really helps to keep the winter blues away!! Hanging out with good friends seems to do it for me!! Anyhow, I really wanted to comment on the trying out of a new idea - a single line kite only competition!!! Every one that I talked to had nothing but rave reviews on it!! It had always been a drawback to only have a single contest for all the fliers! Everyone was flying different types of kites, and some felt that the single line fliers didn't really have a chance in an open competition!! Trying a single line only contest meant that all the fliers were on an even playing field, and the judges only had to compare one type of kite and how it was flown, compared to trying to see how different types related against each other!! It was "the bomb"!! I had so much fun doing it!! And I hope it is an idea that catches on!!
  17. But Baloo - you haven't tried it yet!!! Might fly really nice that way (chuckle)!!!
  18. Headed up this afternoon!! Weatherman is saying that the conditions on the beach are better than those in the valley??!! Might lend itself to some outdoor action!! But whatever, plenty of indoor flying to be had!!!
  19. Baloo - I'm tempted to thrash it - a lot!! But my misery in losing, is nothing compared to some that have been subscribers for so long!! (hint, hint, RNG) Still here, still hoping!!
  20. Yeah - I'm shaking my head now!! Must need fixing or something!! But at least I can fly my sons' old Rev 2!!
  21. I can hear the "oohs and ahhs" from the crowd!!
  22. Congrats Kody!!! Pix or video of the new kite on this site!!
  23. Here in the Northwest, indoor has been the only way to survive the winters!! Lack of winds or just too much rain, really limits you!! Indoors, we have a saying - The wind is always the same!!! I learned just about everything I know of indoor by watching and studying John's tutorials on the subject!! He really explained and demo'd all the basics that you need to start!! After that, it's just how much do you want to push yourself??!!
  24. NO NO NO!! I'll be seeing him (John) this weekend and he can save some postage when he brings it up to the Windless festival!!!
  25. If it's a "Pro", it's custom made and takes a bit of time to make! Unless you found a dealer that had something in stock!! Good on the handles - using that modification of eliminating the triangles, will cut down on possible line snags!! I've survived a stroke, so no pulling for me, but I can see how others enjoy that aspect of the kiting world!! Having 2 completely different kites sounds good to me!! For me, because I love team flying. I've concentrated on getting the whole set of "B"s! That way we can all come to an agreement on what setup should work best for the whole group on any given day!! We'll match kites and/or frames as needed, to stay close to each others setup!! PS: have you ever tried indoors? PSS: Either I missed your mention of Dave, or you just edited your post!!
