The biggest "draw card" I've had for when I'm flying has been on my Rev Indoor. The fact there is no wind and I'm flying a kite really draws the curiosity of people walking past. Leads to a lot of conversation. Doesn't lead anywhere other than that but it does start interest. Anytime I'm on my 30 footers is good to be in an "exposed" area and makes it very easy to engage with people AND fly. Barring all this, when I was playing around with stacks of Revs, I have literally stopped the traffic... Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

I just tie the bunjis in a knot an not bother with the washer. A field repair that became permanent. Puts the sail under a bit of tension but I don't mind that. Sent from my iPad using KiteLife mobile app

Those brakes are made for the Sevens, and the Mohawk range too I think, but the top loop at the pointy end is a bit elastic so it does stretch. They are a bit pricey as a single item being a boutique kite maker in Sweden. I'm sure a kite maker could knock you up a set for a reasonable price if you give them the dimensions. Hey mate. It's not too bad. Which bits didn't you understand? It's all friendly here. As a beginner, get a rtf (ready to fly) package. This comes with everything you need to go straight from your letterbox to the flying field. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

Nice! Specially keen on those banner poles. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

Here I put the brakes on my Seven Vtd to diffuse the wind into the sail to reduce the pressure developed. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

I use #50 x 100 feet for my Seven SUL. It's an 8 foot wing and use it until early double digits (km/h). It's not fragile but definitely becomes springy under too much wind load. Don't forget, 2 #50 lines means a load capacity of roughly #100. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

There's more on FB about the AC than Lams website. An 8 footer will be "slower" than the same kite as a seven footer. Sent from my iPad using KiteLife mobile app

Mass is a relative term with kites. Don't think that the lighter kite will fly lower. Think more in sail area AND mass. Think efficiency. A big wing, 8 feet wide, will be heavier due to its size but will be lighter if the mass is distributed across the greater amount of sail. Side note. I would rather work a bit harder to keep a "heavier" kite flying because I like to have the mass to throw it around. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

I admit a little vanity. I got some red ones a while back to match my Red B's. The bees knees.

Some pics. The R-Sky brakes. The kite has the brakes used to create drag to slow the speed of the kite. They can also be put in front of the sail to diffuse the wind, along the lower spreader. They can also be put 90 degrees to the lower spreader to retail pitch but diffuses the pressure from going centre to the tips, along the standoffs.

I know SKD (sportkitedesign) do them for their Seven range. I think there are some from HQ too but not sure. There isn't the demand for them as a general dual accessory. They are more manufacturer specific. The ones for my Sevens can be fitted a few different ways depending on the desired effect. For retaining pitch and so forth. I think Airdynamics have them for their T5's too.

This is the brakes that came with my Seven. I'm sure The Kite Shoppe have this type. Sent from my ZTE BLADE A110 using KiteLife mobile app http://www.thekiteshoppe.com/categories/Accessories/Wind-Screens-for-Kites/ This is a link to the R-Sky brakes Theresa has.

There are 2 types of brakes. One goes on your lines to slow the kite down by creating drag. The other goes on the kite to reduce the pressure developed in the sail. My 7vtd came with the second type and I have had to use them. Very effective. Sent from my ZTE BLADE A110 using KiteLife mobile app

Really love my Seven SUL. Calm and relaxed or crisp and aggressive, it is great fun to fly. A big presence in the sky and looks just glorious! Sent from my ZTE BLADE A110 using KiteLife mobile app

For my duals, I just wrap the bridle leaders around once the kite is rolled up. For my Revs, I hook the bottom of the vert bridle leg around the grommets that attach the bunji to the kite. Sent from my iPad using KiteLife mobile app

I wind my tails up on a card winder like the LPG ones but it is a bit bigger. I attach the tail loop attachment to the "eyelet" on the winder and wind on keeping the tails flat. When it come time to unwind I just shake it and let the wind carry the tail out till I'm left with the loop to put on the kite. I'll snap a pic later and put it up to give this some "sense". Yes. I find that my time to fly is not regular so I like to be prepared for any wind. Usually it is more depending on wind. I have a full suite of Revs so I can Quad no matter the wind. I'm working on a similar ethos with my Sevens so I can Dual too. With duals though, you tend to get more Standards and Ultralights in bag. Your kite bag will depend on your current kite flavour. With an EXP, or any Rev 1.5 size really, #90 is all you need. 90 pound, 50Dan or there about. #50 for the single digit winds if you were feeling like splurging. 80 feet used to be the most common length but the shorter lengths are becoming very popular. I really love 30 feet! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

Not having an issue via the Kitelife app on iOS. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app -
If your are on a budget then a Std and Full Vent would be the most economical set up. There is a bit of cross over in their wind range with framing. However, if your usual winds don't go up that high then a Mid would see more action. What are the wind conditions that you fly in? Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

Mega Plutz is freaking awesome. I liken it to the battle ships of the Imperial Army in Star Wars... I've spent a fair bit of time on a Prism Zero G which is very similar to the Plutz. Can fly in zero to about 16 kays. Good fun. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

I'll throw an option at you. A secondhand B Series Standard (or Full Sail) with a Black Race frame. Don't baulk at a secondhand Rev, they with fly well into a very worn sail. People upgrade or simply change desire and most pilots will have a sail that doesn't get much play. Ask if there is one out there. One thing about a used sail is you won't treat it with "kit gloves". The crashes won't worry you so much and you'll be that little bit more game to try something. One thing though. The B Series is out of production so may be a bit scarce. A 1.5 is almost as good. Even an EXP. But the Black Race frame is the bees knees. Do be careful with quads. Don't know ANYONE that could stop at one.... Sent from my iPad using KiteLife mobile app
