  1. Monochrome, nice! Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  2. The lighter weight leading edge and bridle means it could be a SUL. This is a great starter package. Nice. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app

  4. Lets get this party started. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  5. A stake less launch. Set your kite up and put on its belly with the nose into the wind. Take the lines and run then out the back then over the top (back of kite). Unwind your lines out like normal. When you put tension in your lines, your kite will pull over and then be ready to fly. I use a stake to pause or break down though. New Kite

The bits that stick out on either leading edges are called "yo-yo stoppers" and they catch your lines so you can do rolled up tricks. Some have various versions of yours and some have a roll bar which is like a standoff bent back around to the trailing edge of your sail. Lam's kites, drool. One day I will have a transformer 2 UL Mid Vent in yellow! Nice to hear about your journey. You will click with some kites and not others. Don't be afraid to let go of the ones you don't like. Unless you want to save them in your "B" bag.... My name's Rob and I'm a kite-a-holic. Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  7. I tried filling the tips with resin then drilling the holes at 90° like you mentioned but couldn't get the aperture but free enough. Wore through leader savers quite quickly. Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  8. I can wait. I got time. That delicious Djinn Is gonna be mine. Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  9. Saw a teaser clip, THIS thing is going to be H O T ! ! Woooooooo hooooooo! Can't wait. Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  10. Could possibly work, making the grooves of the knot slightly smoother. But I think they may still catch. For my bottom leaders, I have only one knot. I do all my adjusting with the tops. Are you catching it with a large forward drive input? (Thumbs right back). Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  11. Yep, tape both sides and that will be good as new. When you tape it, smooth out the patch to remove sir pockets and to ensure good adhesion. Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  12. Looks like there is too much tension in the LE bunjis. The other is the rods stick out a fair way. Is it the same for both sides? You do want a little extra tension in you LE to put a little bow in it. Frayed edges is a normal thing. It doesn't get too bad. If it does, just burn it off CAREFULLY with a lighter. 13. Don't worry. You will crash less and less. You will also worry less about the crashes as you realise how much they can take. First day out can be a mixed bag of emotions. Just breathe and take it in. Glad you could sort out the ball of string. Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  14. I made up a couple of extra sets to convert standard handles to no snags. Shoot me a PM and I can post them out. Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  15. I might be a little late but you are referring to the printed eyes on the rev FB post? Had to look them up to see it as I'm not subscribed. First glance it looked like a direct printed version of a Bazza Eyes. Closer look, still looks the same... Muddy waters ahead for sure. Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  16. Congrats and... REPRESENT!!! Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  17. Really funky kite. Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  18. I was surprised that they would be Icarex. Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  19. The EXP's are due to be Icarex?! Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  20. Wow! That's the old 1.5SLE sail pattern. Do you know what the sail material is? Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  21. You don't need a second set straight away. You will want one but not really needed to start with. 65 feet is fine to start on. Not too fast (30's) and not too big to take up a large amount of real-estate (120's). Use a stake to set up and break down. Set up with the Leading Edge down. Follow JB's line management tutorial to the "tee" and you'll be fine. This will all make more sense once you have the kite. Does the package come with a DVD? Worth watching but certain things are a little differently done. One tip. If flying straight into the ground "thumbs forward, extend your arms and take a step forward". This takes the drive out of the kite and you won't crash as hard. They can take quite a beating and still be good. First crash will be a shock but they get less and less. Also won't worry you as much after the first one.... Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  22. Wasn't KAPing but flew quads and a Zero G from here all the way into the CBD of Perth. Pedestrian access areas. Put on a great show for the morning rush. Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  23. Practice the "dipping" actions on land. Drag a leading edge across the surface. A quick 2 point landing and lift off. Hover at 90° and dip in and out. I was packing when I first did it but you get comfortable after a few. The first moment of "oops" is scary but depending the orientation of entry it's quite easy to get out again. I've only played in waves at the beach but everything else in lakes and stuff. Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
  24. THAT is a great idea! You could put that in a Rev bag so easily. Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.
