  1. I think this is very cool. I think magic sticks could also come under the "lot of work for a little..". Good on you for applying a great design feature retrospectively to a common kite. The LE T on my Djinn is one of my favorite innovations. Cleans up the kite framework considerably. Might give this one a crack myself! Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  2. B series is 7 and a half feet. Effective spar length is 30 inches each. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  3. Glue to the centre spar. A 1.5 frame set has 4+1. The verticals are interchangeable with the outer of the leading edge. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app

Closest to kiting I've been in a while... They love a side slide but an axel not so much! Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  5. I've got a small fan impeller type and it is good for a quick read BUT it can quite direction specific. The vane types don't need to be orientated with the wind BUT they cost a little more. Measuring wind speed at 6 feet can be a little deceiving as the upper wind can be a bit more. Use the anemometer to get you in the ball park but always tune to the kite. 6. Congrats Roger! Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  7. It's all good. We can just say 977 came up and I promise to take lots of pictures... Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  8. Novelty of the year. I don't know how to tell my Djinn that she is a novelty... Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  9. Apologies if been said already as I only really skimmed responses. EXP is ripstop nylon where as B Series is Icarex. EXP is heavier than a comparable B. The panel layout is more for less labour sewing as there are big panels and long straight stitching runs. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  10. A vented kite with a very light frame... sooo sweet. Very under rated. Many inverted unlocks to be found like this. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app

    Handles

I feel that yes they will help short term but in my view they can become a crutch that you don't really need. I almost relied on my 15's to fly in light winds until the day I didn't have them. Set your kite up, and your leaders and use your 13's. Footwork and body usage will serve you better than different handles as this skill will transfer to all the different sail configurations. 12. I'm sure you may have seen the method to convert normal steel handles to snagless..? Works a treat and quite a bit cheaper that actual snagless aluminium ones. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  13. Bit late to the thread... Currently running a Djinn full sail (don't feel the term standard really applies to such a fine bird) and a Polo VTD. Djinn up to about 20 km/h and the Polo for about 15 km/h upwards. For a high wind kite the Polo VTD has a massive range. I've had mine in 88 km/h in the 3 frame. It seems to be more comfortable inverted in the lower winds. Again, not sure how higher winds you want to go. Or if you prefer a powered up sail loading. Have you got one yet? 14. Congrats Nothing quite like flying the best in the colours of your choosing. Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  15. Sweet!!!! Sent from my SM-G970F using KiteLife mobile app
  16. Already have a scheme sorted... I love I love I love THIS!!!! Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  17. I switch handles if I'm going to fly that way for a while. If I'm line bending I'll keep them normal. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  18. Longer handles will suit light wind better. There is a but. There is no free lunch. Longer handles do accentuate your inputs as the lever is longer. However, once you have a certain amount of low wind skills you may prefer consistency in you "connection" point to the rest of your set. I used to have 15" handles on my light wind set up. Much more responsive as I used to chuck that kite around. Vigorously! Now though, it's 13"s all through the range. Always try a different set up as it may suit your style. You like it, you'll adjust. Different flavours are fun. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  19. Big congratulations! A mid Vent is usually considered a luxury. There is a bit of overlap going from standard to vented. But. Having that sail smack bang in the middle is just glorious!!! Fly it often and hard. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  20. When I got my Sevens, I got a weight set with them and played around with different sizes. Ended up leaving the stock weight in. I found more "gains" in adjusting the AOA to suit my preference. Having a SUL, Std and Vtd helps more as I can go up or down a kite rather than having to adjust one kite to suit the conditions. However, on my Temptation Std, I was recommended to put some extra weight in the wing tips. It was only 5g each but it added a lot more personality to it. I think play around with a kite until you are happy with it. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  21. Can you explain how the Ashes is different from the B Pro Standard? Does it have a different icarex weight or a lighter leading edge pocket or such? Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  22. The sail venting comes deep into the centre. With 4 triangles added too. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  23. My PoloVTD has the centres vented. It creates a very different feel. I can't generate the whump but at the winds I use it at, above 30-40km/h, it doesn't really affect me. I have found that it is more stable inverted than my B Series. The frame doesn't flex under load as much either. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  24. Yes! Would this include BOTH types of Axel's...? I could use an axel tutorial. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  25. You can dead launch a G too! On grass. Put it on its back with the nose pointing away from you. Walk away from it letting out a good deal of line. At least 15 meters. Now take up a little tension, then a short pop and reel the line in and watch it climb. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
