  1. All good. I'm sure we all can wait a bit longer before my number is drawn..... [emoji6] Come to me my precious Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  2. Truth be told, It won't be fair to the rest of the world when I win this. I mean, it would double the Djinn population here in Oz. Pretty soon they are rolled up in the kite bag, together, in the dark. Then they'll be a flock of little djiinns. Then a bigger flock. Then before you know it, we'll be over run and the Pied Piper John will have to come over to establish a new order.... Ahem, Kind of looking forward to the new overlords... 6. The tug to initiate the glide part of the "catch" can be initiated at really any point in the window. Just remember the LE will glide in the direction it faces. I used to be fairly (very) aggressive on the pull but you don't need to be. A gentle tug is all it needs. The throw is the easy part. Like a javelin with a slight amount of rotation to make the LE face away and glide. A lighter LE just means you need to get the mass moving before you release. 99% of all my starts are using a throw on 50 feet and shorter. Can do it on longer but I'll use a stake for those... mostly. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  7. Do you prefer a frameless kite? A vented Rokkaku can be adjusted for it AOA. A normal ROK can but don't think above 30 kays would be sustained for a duration of time. I've had my ROK in winds about 35 but I didn't feel comfortable pushing it. They would lift a KAP rig too. I think that you can buy them "off the shelf" from Jones Airfoils but not 100% sure. Plenty of great places for kapping in Melbs. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app

  16. I had a love hate relationship with the colourizer when I was working on a B Pro set. Fell back in love doing my Djinns though. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app

  18. Took me a lot of different schemes, and here it is!! Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  19. Short lines. I personally love them. They are intimate. Yes things happen faster but it doesn't have to be super paced all the time. I chopped my first set of #90 X 80 feet into 30's and 50ish. I much prefer the 30's! Short lines allow you to fly in very unique areas. I don't have any #50 quad sets yet, just made use of what I had. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  20. One thing that@riffclown does on his sails that is worth mentioning is that the bunji for the bottom verts is a loop as opposed to a line with 2 knots. The loop retains the rod centrally to the mounting point. Absolutely love it. I can get a little "animated" when I fly... Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app

  22. Depends on what you are you are going to do. Forward drive, reverse, side shift. I usually have my kite set before I load it so the drive is being used from the start of the loading. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  23. I'd definitely back a standard sail with a vented as the second one. A mid vent is a "luxury" and can be a filler later down. Depending on the frame/s that came with the standard B, usually a 2 and a 3 wrap, you could get a 4 in the vented. OR. To get costs down just get a vented B as a "sail only" and use the heavier frame in it. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  24. Recharging my kite batteries... Sweet in flight. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
