  1. Start by throwing it away from you, out in front. Let it take as much line as possible. Let the line run out through your fingers. Don't grip the line too tight or you will cut your skin... trust me on that! When it is nearly at the ground take up the line tension. It will begin to rotate. Pull the line in steadily, hand over hand, making sure to maintain even tension. The G will fly in the direction when the tension is applied. Once it flies overhead or at the peak of its trajectory, let it take the line out. Repeat. Repeat. It will eventually take all the line you give it! Very peaceful to fly. 2. Oh, and on my dedicated stack I reverse the last sail so it can be "seen" by the people watching! Stacks draw a crowd!! Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  3. For my Rev stacks, I use the 4 foot train lines. That would be 8/15ths I think, 7.5 foot wing. The bottom train lines on my last kite is 40-50mm shorter than all the rest to apply a little brake to pull the stack tight. With them, shorter train lines they will pull you less. Edited for clarity... Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  4. Sort of only glossed through the Club 38 stuff but when setting up and breaking down ALWAYS park your kite inverted. In the DVDs that came with my Revs they show the kite Leading Edge up instead of down. LE down is far safer. Use the tools and resources that help you. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  5. Depends. Laziness, flying frequency all come in to it. One my Sevens I was detensioning the LE's fastidiously when I first got them. Now not so much. I try to remember and do it mostly but if I don't for a while I'm not going to panic. I don't take the ULE's out of the connectors, just push them parallel to the LE when rolling up. Some take the tension off and break down the LE to roll up too. I dare say a sail would last longer if the tension was taken out but then again, it would last longer if you didn't fly it too... 6. Mid Vent, probably my least used sail but I really love it when I do fly it. Such a great blend of power and bleed. This will be a great get for some lucky subscriber. C'mon 977!!! Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  7. Saw the state of origin just before... Not much of a rugby fan. Melbourne has some great buildings to capture, both old and new. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  8. This is cool. They are rugby goals though. Still cool. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  9. I've reglued a set of handles using "contact cement" but I'm not sure what it is known as in the US. Stuff you put on both surfaces and leave till tack dry. Then assemble to marks. Still holding up to my abuse. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  10. Is that a vented Thor's Hammer!?!! Wow. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  11. Absolutely love my Seven Vented by SKD. Takes the edges of the Inland gusts while having trick ability. Perfect for when it's a tad over a standard sail. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  12. I've seen some Climax linesets that are orange. Heard that they were good. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  13. Killer bird! What an awesome piece of Karma. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  14. This, is a kite I think everyone should have in your bag. Short lines opens up areas to fly that aren't normally accessible. Soooo much personality. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app

    Banners

I got a feather banner made for when I'm on the field. Also works great when we are at the beach so the kids know where home base is set up. Made by some good folks here in Oz. I sometimes just set it up in the back yard and just watch it flap in the breeze. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  16. Don't push it too hard. I can't believe I actually said that! What I really mean is, in the upper wind ranges the lower spreaders will pop out. Wind and input pop will do it. Trust me... Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  17. The B2 standard would be my desert island kite. In the 2 frame with sticks it is good to 20 mph! Sounds like a lightsaber in higher winds. Attach lines to verts for zero wind flying. Hell of a kite. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  18. Nice pics Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  19. Love where I live. I can have my kite, my field and my house in the one picture... Just south of Margs, very nice area. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  20. Oh yeah! My boy has been eyeing off mine. This would be a great addition!!!! Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  21. Thanks, Noticed the app (droid) wanted me to log back in. Just ignored it. Now I can return to the cracker topics contained within. [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  22. With 2 stringer kites, they ALL have their own personality and try as many as you can. Some you'll keep, some you'll move on. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  23. I'll be honest, only skimmed the replies. First kite, I wouldn't be to set on a crispy new sail. A second hand one still flies as good BUT there is a major plus. When you crash it you won't feel as bad. You have more confidence and will be a little more willing to try things if it has a few hours on the clock. Pilots are upgrading all the time and some offload their used sails quite cheaply to replenish the hard earned spent on their new bird. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  24. I chop down longer lines when they wear out. There's a hole set of guidelines for that. 80 chops down to 30 and 50ish real easy. Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
  25. Massive congrats. Spank it in good measures... Sent from my SM-G950F using KiteLife mobile app
