Trying to do the side slide with a two line kite.
SparkieRob replied to Brewster's topic in Beginners
For me, yes. I found my 7 foot kites were a little too fast for learning on. They, however, are pure freestyle kites. I'm using an 8 foot Polyvalent kite to learn on as the rotations and transitions are a little slower. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app -
I think Steve Tapp has been making some prototypes to be checked out for them. I think I saw a Solus on his table in some social media pics. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

To lift a kite with little to no wind essentially you have to move the kite through the air. By running with it or letting out a lot of line then reeling the line in. The kites sail opposes air pressure and rises accordingly. This is how we fly indoors. I have seen a kite assisted by a helium balloon in ultra low wind conditions too. The balloon lifts it to an altitude where the wind can generate the necessary lift. I'm sure some people with real experience will chime in. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

"Which is lighter a GT Race or 2 wrap?" In my street kite I have a race centre with the others being 2 wrap. Don't be shy about mixing it up. However, I would choose the race frame over the 2 as I feel it loads and unloads much better for low wind. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

Very cool. Very slick. Mine didn't play any sound but that may be a regional thing. That or Australia is THAT much behind the times... Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app -

Only flown Revs in the rain. I come in one knot on my brakes for light showers, 2 for medium. So long as the wind is there, there really isn't much difference. Apart from getting wet. Check that your bridle won't bleed colour onto your sail when packing up. My wet weather mantra: Put on layers, stop when skin gets wet... Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

Catch part. I've caught a few of my 4 stack on 30 foot lines with 4.5 foot train lines. Most successful was holding my handles in left hand and hold that arm straight out. Right arm kind of pointing to the sky. And the catch part is like you playing Pacman with the kites. Positioning yourself to be quite centre really helps. That, and a shallow arc keeps it tight. I saw the pics of JB catching 2 and it started from there with me. I sometimes just use a 2 stack on 30 foot at my local basketball court. Good fun. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

The prism DVD is ok. Freestyle Pilot. I got one a a while back. It's good if you prefer to watch a DVD rather than stream from the net. I think "Trick or Treat" DVD from Tim Benson is a little more up to date. Better production too. Has more flying sequences. Dodd's 6 step was really helpful to me. Also Randy G's stuff was good. But they are both net based. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

Nirvana SUL SOLD SOLD SOLD

Super sweet deal! Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app -
Yes sail pressure is greater due to the most amount of sail presented perpendicular to the wind. However, as the drive has been taken out or reduced it slows the kite down. Like a vector, lots of magnitude just not much direction. I have all types set with nose back as it is the setting I like. Having a SUL to Vented range now I would be pulling out the Vented when the wind is kicking. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

With my Jammin, I tightened up the wing tip sail tensioner loops. I like long ground passes and they can pop off after a bit of contact... Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

Start with "ground recoveries". Then Stalls. The building blocks are important. Have a bit of fun while doing it but trust me on the recoveries. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
