  1. When I put up my Rok, most people are surprised it doesn't need a tail!
  2. Not to sound like I'm spouting some sort of political line but they are all winners just to get there to compete. Some of the footage is already pushing me on. That mega fly..... mega epic! Certainly looks to be one of the best ones yet.
  3. If you can fly before you buy, that is a bonus. But hey, if you like the look if it I'd say don't worry about the price. I'm learning duals on a custom built kite and I don't worry too much about it. Broken spas can be replaced, holes can be patched. Fly something that makes you happy.
  4. JB recommended the Akubra as well, a couple years ago Reminds me to put in his application to become an honorary Aussie...
  5. Ha ha ha. Even got the big fella to fly a couple of duallies!! Ian's B matching the blue roof... Great day to be outside flying... something.
  6. I don't NEED this, But I'll be happy to win this.
  7. Did the same when I put the sticks onto my Diamond frame. Must change the red tape to black one of these days, less of an eyesore!
  8. I poke them inside the down spas.
  9. I'm now making an effort with 2 lines... So now light wind weapon is my Temptation UL on 50 foot of line. I've tried on 100 feet of #50 but I'm not there yet. Slow and graceful. Allows time to get stalls perfected. Also let's me see what the kite is doing as everything is slowed down. Quite enjoyable dual line flying for this quad head!
  10. Putting in this shot by WA of my SUL, I think it's a corker pic. Still gotta take the FB labels though...

    Supersonic Stack

Even though I took it, I really love this pic!
  12. I have sticks on 2 of my sails but I ALWAYS park inverted and stake. Habit maybe but it is safer. As far as being easier to reverse fly, I didn't find that. Each to their own experience. To me so far, sticks are a plaything. They will definitely stay on my SUL. Still deciding on my B2. I'm my situation, I have to buy to try. Glad I got some though.
  13. I've seen the "Shockwave plus Blast plus Blast 2-4" stack in pictures. Looks terribly like too much fun!! There is also a YouTube clip of a crazy bloke with a twin stack of 4-8s!
  14. Yep, try it. Or more to the, feel it. If it feels good to your hands then that's good. Every now and then I'll go a knot further out than usual and see how I like it. Sometimes it's nice, sometimes not (knot...!)
  15. Here's a lot of "I'm not sure's".. I've seen a clip of a lady (mature) flying a 3 or 4 stack of indoor single liners. Think they were iFlites... They were square-ish sails. It was at a club fly or comp meet. Definitely in the US. Was very cool to watch.
  16. Watched your vids again Rob, before going out today. Good for a motivational push. I was probably a bit too keen. Flew my Temptation Std in a little too much wind. Don't worry, I didn't brake anything. Hung out at the edges a bit, a fair bit.
  17. Now Kitemap will be full of parking lots and little, swirly wind postage stamp fields that only JB can fly in. Fly too you can. Often fly you must. Opportunities everywhere will you see. Feel the force will you.
  18. I agree, #90 will be fine. Fly mostly on your 3 frame, if it bends excessively, put in the 4 frame. It will handle it. Yes, the "wear and tear" on the sail is greater than going to an XTRA but that's what was done before the XTRA was made. AND if your Vtd is bending excessively after you put in the 4 frame, slide a 3 leading edge into the LE pocket.
  19. Not yet. I'd have to put my patriotic hat on first and look for a suitable Akubra.
  20. I knew it was an iFlite and it had a hole in it. Still have much to learn sensei.
  21. A shot of WA's iFlite Vtd from this morning.
