  1. i have a spool of 150# so will not be a problem to make some bridle and test them, i have full thrust on your skills and judgement Mark so i am on. Till then i will also try JB method for indoor ,no bridle at all. i will keep tided just the spars points and see what is happening
  2. i start to believe that T connection problem is because you use a wrong T connection and high winds, if you like kiting and winds are so strong on your area try to buy a vented one. aluminium and worse stainless steel connection will add weight to the tail changing the equilibrium center and fly characteristics,
  3. from your picture all seams to be right. going thru so many T connectors without to break any standoffs i think you are a lucky man and also i thing you hit the land to hard on wing, usually that connection for spars between the wings (under your finger) is a moving part specialty made on that way to avoid the breaking of the spars. is kipped in place by a small piece of rubber band and at to a hard sock is moving out and disconnect the spars collapsing the kite avoiding any breaks
  4. thank you,i try to keep a simply design to avoid mistakes on stitching,i find out to work better with 2 rows of stitches on to an 1935 Singer then a zig-zag from a modern one
  5. Supersonic template 3 inch bigger at the V cut. i used the original frame and spars. is flying good but i need to do some adjustments at the bridle to make him to respond better at hovering and slow fly
  6. run in Romanian, thank you Mark, mi native language. they are really gorgeous
  7. i will love to have them but....i still dreaming
  8. that is a correct conclusion, upper nose means more wind on the sail, more pull, more lift and more stress
  9. on your case slow means heavier on the tail and that also means more pull
  10. the setup of the bridle keep the kite more or less in the wind. adding a tail you ad a weight to that make the wind to hit the sail more even the bridle is setup for hard winds. some kites have weight added to the tail to change the fly characteristics (no bridle setup) or to making them more tricky
  11. nice play. quantum is a big powerful kite and is pulling hard in more then 8 MPH winds, adding a tail you keep the sail more in the wind having harder pull then without you have some adjustments on the bridle for light, moderate and hard winds. you may play with that depending of the wind condition and for sure you will have less pull with the right setup. the pigtail what you have tied to the swivel is more then enough (30-50 LBS) i may suggest you in hard winds to play more on the neutral zone (left 9 to 10 or right 2 to 3) till you will have more experience to control and land the kite without to damage it
  12. 1.8 maybe in over 30 MPH winds but with 2.5 you have some chances to have some drag,Better you may want to try something bigger like 5 Meters kites and for sure will have more chances to give you the trill you seek if you use some 500 LBS lines. joke or not try to meet flyers and fly some different power kites before to engage and buy stuff. is a pretty demanding sport both on equipment and physical effort.DO NOT USE nothing close with a regular belt or something around your waist without padding and on your case without leg straps like this http://www.shadeonme.com/ozone-connect-backcountry-harness . if use a regular belt and is moving up to your torso after you start fly the power kite you will have some really bad bruises. mi opinion
  13. i have made a set of 50# - 175' for a Zen and fly even a Rev 1 with. the fly is great and is amazing to see the kite go so much up in the sky but speaking about reaction time and precision is half from a regular 120' lines so i decided this spring when weather permitted to short them at 130' max an have another set at 40'. mi opinion is if you want to try long lines to combine to sets before to specially made one
  14. i know exactly who you are Deke and i remember your "special" way to pack that Rev 2
  15. you are right John, they are and other couple 180Go
  16. hello Deke, Busse Woods is a bit fat for me and i go there just if 2 ore more flyers are coming. i fly regularly on Loyola Beach and form some times if is a West wind on Warren Park. Some times i go to Montrose Beah but this is just on the fall and winter time when the wind is low and i need more space for movement
  17. on A Wind Of Change store for 313$ with 3 wrap frame
  18. for sure i will let you know, thank you
  19. you will laugh Wayne,in December they have a sell and i buy from them a Rev B-series standard sail for 250$. Don't ask me how and why they come down to this price but this is what i paid
  20. agree with you riffclown 5M is ideal but....if you are on 20 or 30's. mi sensation is the guy is way pass that and just for safety i think 3M is enough. i experienced 3M and 5M and with 5M i had some really hard time to not go to much then i want. mi opinion and experience may not be relevant
  21. for fun and jumps at low and medium winds 3M Beamer(quad) or Slingshot B3(dual) are the best. for sure a bigger kite will take you up and if you are not on any kind of wheels i do not see the point for something bigger
  22. 1 and 5
  23. yes Wayne, now on the winter when the outside wind is pretty heretical here in Midwest.
  24. thank you mark, i will post there to
  25. ABS just take the idea and incorporate the magic stick on the framing of the klite
