B-Series Mid Vent Package (12/15/14)
Nick Russell replied to John Barresi's topic in Current Drawings
Oh yes! -
We are at Hilton Head Island for another week and then are headed south to Florida for 2 or 3 months. Plan to spend a week or so in St. Augustine, another week around Titusville on the Space Coast, down to the Keys and then back to central Florida. Hope to find some good flying opportunities along the way.

Carolina Kite Club/Kites Unlimited 27th Annual Kite Fest
Nick Russell replied to Amexpmh's topic in Scheduled Events
We were just in Morehead City and stopped at the kite shop in Atlantic Beach. Wish we could have stayed longer to go to the festival. -
I really need a dual line sport kite.
-
You're welcome, Marshall. Hope you enjoy it.
-
And the winner is Amexpmh! Congratulations. Please PM me and we'll make arrangements to get your buff to you. Thanks for playing, everybody!

Congrats Robin!

Do they have electricity there?

This drawing is for a UV Buff to protect you from wind, sun and the elements. Here is a link to the Buff product page and the winner can select the color they want. I will order it and have it sent to you. http://buffusa.com/s.../sun-protection Standard Karma Rules and Guidelines apply: http://kitelife.com/...s-please-read/. The deadline for entering the drawing will be 6PM Eastern Time 9/30/2014 Short of a natural disaster or a my wife making me a batch of chocolate chip cookies, which cold delay things, the winner will be posted by 10 PM Eastern Time. Shipping to the lower 48 is covered. A winner from Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada will need to kick in half of the shipping. The drawing will be done using the RNG. Enter by starting the post with "I'm in!" Standard Karma Note from the Moderators: This is a Karma Drawing. The winner of the drawing is expected to pay it forward by offering their own prize for the next drawing. Please do not enter unless you are willing to offer your own prize, preferably not the prize you just won. Drawings should be open for entry approximately 2 weeks, and the next drawing should be posted as soon as possible to keep the Karma rolling. These drawings are run by and for KiteLife members. The moderating team only ensures that your drawing post contains all of the pertinent information (drawing date/time, adequate prize description, drawing rules) before approval. If you are a KiteLife member from the US or Canada, you are eligible to enter. You do not have to be a paid subscriber. Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize. Here is the link to the original Rules and Guidelines thread: http://kitelife.com/forum/topic/5426-rules-and-guidelines-please-read/ The mechanism for the drawing itself is entirely at the discretion of the person offering the prize. In the past, entry number has been determined either by order of entry or by the post number in which the member declares entry into the drawing. The drawings have been performed using the RNG method (http://www.random.org/sequences/) or by choosing the numbers out of a hat (I believe an adorable daughter did the picking in that scenario). The only requirement is that the method of selection is clearly spelled out in the drawing post. Entry into the drawings is done by STARTING a post in the drawing thread with the entry phrase chosen by the drawing host (Traditionally "I'm in", but "I LIKE" has been used as well). In order to remove any confusion or misinterpretation, only entries with posts that START with the phrase will be considered. As with all other KiteLife drawings, bantering is encouraged. This is for fun after all.

The Rev came the other day and Terry is excited to get it into the air. We're currently in southern Virginia and will be in Virginia Beach in a few days, hope to try it out then. Thanks again, Mark! I'll be posting my new drawing today or tomorrow.
-
Terry is bouncing off the walls. She has wanted a Rev forever.
-
Wow, that is really cool!!! You just made one lady really happy. Thank you!

Wife is sitting her with all her fingers crossed.

I know how frustrating that can be. The campground we've been the last two weeks has had terrible internet. Fortunately, we're moving south about 70 miles today for a three week stay and the area there is supposed to be much better. Selfishly hoping to win this one so my wife can get into flying too.
-
I need to win this to get my wife flying. Then she can teach me!

I'm new to quad line kites and still trying to learn to fly my Rev 1.5, but have a long way to go. I won a Rev Supersonic in my first Karma drawing, and everything I have heard about it has me about convinced that it will be a long time before my skills are up to tackling it. I have been giving a lot of though to pickling up a dual line stunt kite and would love a Widowmaker or something similar. I'd also like to find a beginner Rev for my wife. Should I look for a possible trade on the Supersonic if I could fined someone who has something to trade, or hang on to it for the day when I might be ready for it?
-
I'm in, looks like it would be a good starter kite for my wife. Thanks Mark

We plan to stop in St. Augustine for a few days sometime in late October or early November when we get to Florida. Will probably stay at the Elks lodge, which has some RV sites right by the beach.
-
I'm also a dual line speed foil flier who bought a 1.5 to start out on and had absolutely no luck in spite of watching hours of videos. I was close to giving up on quads, but this week I had a 3 hour private lesson with Joh Barresi and learned a ton. I still have a very long way to go, but I now know I can fly the kite and all I need is time on the lines and occasional pointers when I can hook up with more experienced fliers.
